People don't like light and prefer darkness when their deeds are wicked. Palin tweaks a lot of people's consciences, and they really don't like it. Palin represents reality and truth, and they prefer myths and lies. Palin is a "winnowing fork", requiring division of wheat and chaff. You may not remain neutral. You must choose, and it makes some VERY uncomfortable to do so.

This passage says NOTHING about Sarah Palin, winnowing forks, or irrational responses. Am I to understand she evokes "irrational" responses because she smells like God?

I didn't like her because we were told that she didn't even know what the duties were of the office she was running for .
The "people don't like her because she's Christian" line is just propaganda from the Repubican Party.

You mean the person who quit halfway through her first term as Governor of Alaska because she could make more money from a book deal & tour, and probably left before a scandal involving improperly firing state troopers came out? And who misused public funds? And who supports abstinence-only sex ed while her daugter got knocked up and can't understand how that happened? And who shot moose while flying over them in a helicopter? And who walked out halfway through a book signing while her fans waited out in the cold just to see her and got pissed off when she left early?
I think my conscience is fine. I think of Sara Palin like Walter Mondale. They lost big time and then fell off the political radar.
I love how Christians think that Sara Palin is just underneath Jesus on the worship heirarchy.
Oh please, anyone with two brain cells can tell what Sarah is right away, it's completely obvious. That you don't see her for what she is just means you're as stupid as she is. God, why do you people always worship the most hateful, corrupt assholes you can find? No normal person would want to be in the same room as Palin, yet you think she's some kind of holy being. What does the Bible say about calling evil good, and good evil? 'Cause you people do that ALL THE TIME.
The only reality and truth Sarah Palin could represent is how widely and openly her fearmongering views are held by our society. Views that do tweak my conscience, because I feel they're horribly misguided and dangerous. And yes, that does make me very, very uncomfortable.

The extreme, but highyly RATIONAL response she evokes from the majority of people is because we discovered that she's more than just a nitwit, she's one of the most cutthroat, brazen liars we've ever seen on the public stage, with a talent for using those lies to stir up near hysterical hatred and paranoia amongst the idiots who follow her. Death threats against Obama went up so much (400%) after she went on the campaign trail that the Secret Service had to have a word with the McCain campaign out of concern for Obama's safety. But guess what? Even knowing this, Palin continued with the lies at every stop. She's also totally corrupt, with a litany of ethics complaints against her in Alaska.

So, by whining about people electing the "wrong person" you are de facto criticising gods decisions. Does MrB even realise that Sarah Palin was only placed on the Republican ticket, because they thought that Barak Obama was going to have Hilary Clinton as his running mate, during the 2008 election, & they believed that Sara would counteract the effects of Hilary on potential female voters, who would vote Democrat...?
