I wasn't familiar with Robert Oscar Lopez, so I looked him up. He was (kind of) raised by a lesbian couple and believes that, while homosexuals have a right to form contracts together (that aren't marriage), they do not have what Lopez refers to as “property rights” to children.
He thinks “something is missing” for a child who doesn't have both parents, one of each gender.
Before we continue, let's take a look at kids who cannot be with their parents, either one, or who simply don't have any:

A very significant number, however, may find themselves without parents of either sex for far longer. Lopez presented his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2013, using his time there to touch on thorny ethical issues involving international surrogacy contracts in particular (despite that such contracts are beyond the means of most people and are also open to heterosexual couples) before introducing his central argument: That children have a right to two parents, one of either gender.

As is the case with this ridiculous OP, Lopez expressed self-pity in explaining the rationale of his position.
Lopez of Puerto Rican descent with some ancestors who were allegedly slaves has made common cause with white supremacists and other shit sandwiches who don't generally recognise even the basic humanity of bisexual brown people. But he can handle them, he says: They are, for some odd reason that nooooobody could ever guess, nicer to him than those who found his testimony at least offensive.
What I'm about to say isn't nice, but it is true: For the time being - i.e., for so long as he remains useful to them - the white supremacists and assorted company will treat him as an honorary straight, white man. If he choses to stray from the script, they'll turn on him like a hungry pack of feral dogs.
