just have faith that God brutalized Christ on the cross as a substitute for what he is ready to do to you.

Hmm... don't we, as a culture, have a term for someone who gets angry at other people, and takes his anger out on his son?
I thought you'd been down on the Jews and the Pagans for brutalizing Christ this whole time. If God did it himself, doesn't that mean it's not the Jews' or the Pagans' fault? At worst, they merely allowed themselves to be manipulated by a sadistic and manipulative god?
How does this fit in with the notion of Trinity? Isn't God, in effect, brutalizing himself?
Oh, and Ceridwen? What business does an Xian have calling herself Ceridwen?
I suppose it might be genuinely fundie - this is the fundie way of thinking, after all. But it could just as easily be a Poe trolling fundies. I've seen lots of bait tossed out like this by Poes, only to get an unbelievable number of approving responses from fundies.
Oh, that's funny! "You see this? YOU FUCKING SEE THIS?! Either fuckin' repent or it'll be YOUR ass up here, get it?"
Really, "brutalized?" What Xian says that?

God creates man, gives him 'freewill', sentences all of mankind to death and eternal torture, brutalizes his own son, and still threatens us with eternal torture if we don't worship him. Where is that supposed freewill again?
GOD'S MOTTO: Love me or I shall utterly destroy you.
Ah yes, feel that Christian LOVE...
btw, I had a friend, a devout Catholic, who named her cat Ceridwen.
So... Let me get this straight: Daddy God is an abusive asshole (no big surprise), and he used Mommy Jesus to give us an object lesson of what would happen if we pissed him off? And then Mommy Jesus disappeared?
Sounds like either he/she couldn't take it and booked, leaving the kids with the abusive maniac, or he/she didn't survive the beating and the whole resurrection/ascension scam was the equivalent of the false evidence planted to have the investigators believe that the wife ran away with an other guy....
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
