9/11 is only the beginning for an unrepentant nation !
[Snip Bible quote]
Paul Jennings Hill [who killed two people, and seriously injured a third] is dead by lethal injection; Murdered in prison near Raiford, Florida. He was convicted of the crime of defending defenseless innocent human beings. Many have falsely judged minister Hill by erroneously understanding and quoting the commandment "Thou shall not kill."

Thou = you, me, anyone
Shall not = will not
Kill = take a life
Seems pretty straight forward to me.
I see David,
so in your opinion "thou shalt not kill" only applies to clusters of cells in a human womb, that haven´t developed a nervous system yet and, of course also no consciousness,
but it does not apply to fully grown humans.
For reference: Paul J. Hill "defended" the "unborn children" by walking up to a vehicle containing a physician, the physician's escort, and the escort's wife. Paul Hill then emtied a pump-action 12-guage shotgun into all three occupants.
None of the victims were armed. The escort was an Army veteran. His wife was getting a lift home.
The charge was First-degree murder with extenuating circumstances of particular heiniousness. Hill exhibited NO remorse and confessed all. He took pride in his actions, right up to his execution.
Hill was simply a murder-crazed psychopath. He just chose the "pro-life" cause as an excuse to indulge in his fantasies.
I thought the 9/11 tragedies were the result of a crazy Muslim fundamentalist who hates the United States and its perceived evils. I don't recall abortion being a part of his reasoning.
Hill took the existing, living, breathing lives of two men. He took these lives because he interpreted the bible on his own and decided it was law. Then he took that law into his own hands, which is going over god's head, don't you think? Hill believed his judgment was more important than god's and acted upon it.
It's not an erroneous understating of the commandment; it is flat out ignoring the commandment. It doesn't say thou shalt not kill except...it says thou shalt not kill. Period.
I guess if we lived exactly as the fundamental Muslims do, then they wouldn't of attacked us.
Except that the fundies can't agree on the level of importance to give Jesus and Mohammad. So I guess we'll have to fight the wars over that.
thou shalt not kill is not a law, it's a commandment that has no legal bearing in this country. We do, however, have laws against murder so I can't see why you are opposed to teh outcome of this situation unless you happen to be against teh death penalty. I'd imagine the chance of that being the case is horrifically small though.
Most modern translations of the Bible render that particular commandment as "Thou shalt not murder ."
The word at the end, in Hebrew, basically means "to kill without the legal authorization to do so." Murders are prohibited by this Commandment, but state-sanctioned executions are not.
A Swedish supposed serial killer was recently acquitted of all charges, except the sexual assaults he committed 43-23 years ago. His therapists and the interrogators had "encouraged" him to confess "this, that and the other". If the State had sentenced him to the death penalty, we couldn't have resuscitated him and asked him for forgiveness. As he was sentenced to psychiatric care, he can (maybe) be released, if the psychiatrists find that there is no risk of him reverting to his sexual assault life of 23 year ago.
Confused?
