Are women equal to men in ability? When considering whether women are equal to men in ability, ask yourself this question, ladies. Would you rather be shipwrecked on a desert island with a man or another woman? Of course, we women have our strengths. When properly trained, we are good at nurturing children. We can be content making our homes so long as no other woman is whispering rebellious poison in our ears. But are we generally equal to men in ability? No. Women are generally inferior to men in ability. On average we are smaller, weaker, invent almost nothing, produce almost nothing—except for children, that is. We are able to do this one thing that men cannot do; in every other area, we are inferior and it is merely an illusion propped up by artifice that we are equal to men.
If the welfare state which exists due to taxes disproportionately paid by men were to disintegrate, the myth that women are not inferior to men would quickly evaporate. And do you know what? That fact does not bother me! It does not bother me that I am generally inferior to my husband. Rather, that fact fills me with a profound gratitude for his presence in my life and makes me acutely aware of how fortunate I am to be under his protection.

Personally, I'd rather be shipwrecked with someone who knew what the fuck they were doing and could help both of us survive until rescue arrived. What kind of genitalia that person carries around is totally irrelevant. I'd rather have a female Marine than a male office manager.
If Sunshine Mary isn't a G.I.R.L. or a very determined Poe, I'll eat my hat.
Probably I'd rather be shipwrecked with a Girl Scout who had recently earned badges in ropes and knots, outdoor cooking, fishing, and woodcraft.

I'd rather be shipwrecked with a person who know how to fend for him/herself in Nature, regardless of gender. I have a friend who's a scout, she'll probably manage pretty well...
Which ability? The ability to find edible plants and cook them to make a pleasant meal? The ability to make clothes and shelter? The ability to discuss and make time pass?
I know several tall, muscular women, and several short and skinny men.
I heard on the Swedish news yesterday, that if everyone, who is caring for a elderly and/or sick relative without pay, should quit doing that, it wouldn't even take 24 hours until the medical care system had broken down completely. Do you know which gender is over-represented in that caring of relatives? Women, yes, often even when the relative is on the husband's side.
Under his protection? Protection from what? There are very few dangerous animals in the cities of Sweden nowadays...
no way any actual woman would ever write that. hell, most heterosexual males would never write that even, since merely being attracted to women should be enough to teach you more and better about them than that. i was pretty near convinced long ago already, but this positively clinches it; the OP's a g.i.r.l.
On at least two occasions, my life has been saved by two surgeons, both females. Did I care what gender they were? No, only that, when I awoke after both operations, I was still breathing.
And I seem to remember that, during World War II, women were trained and carried most of the burden of manufacturing in this country. Despite having proven their ability, they were literally chased out of the factories after the war to make room for the returning men. So this notion that men have “better ability” then men is nothing more than a stupid attempt to keep women in the home and out of the workplace.

OK, "Mary." How would you like to be shipwrecked with some wharf-rat loser that makes you do all the work, then at night he rapes your ass because he's horny? Then you get pregnant and die because there's not enough food and water and the bastard turns you into jerky-chew before you rot. So finally, he gets rescueed and all that's left of you are some bones and a pile of shit. How would you like that, Mary? Didn't think of that, did you, Mary? DID YOU MARY! Next time maybe you won't be so quick to throw yourself at some jerk with a dong!
Let's just rename this dink, "Moonshine Marty".
Moonshine Marty & Larry Woody! Two G.I.R.Ls out to cause facepalms everywhere!
Oh...What about Rosie The Riveter, Marty? What about those WW2 Soviet Sniper gals, Marty? What about Valentina Tereshkova or Sally Ride, Marty?
The creator of The Creature From The Black Lagoon ? A woman! You can thank the lovely & talented Millicent Patrick...and NOT Bud Westmore...for creating the Gill-Man in all his fishy glory!
Oh, then there's this gruesome but BEAUTIFULLY done Masterpiece...

...painted by the lovely & talented Artemisia Gentileschi, a master artist with a vagina! She's even a bit better than Caravaggio at painting this Biblical gore-fest.
So, Mr. Moonshine Marty; Please quit guzzling your namesake, posting this drivel & actually try to learn about women & be more empathetic, for once.

Well - just as in those shipyards (and other manufacturing facilities) in WWII - someone's gonna have to build that boat to escape from said island, eh Sunshite Mary...?! [/Doug Piranha-levels of sarcasm]

Being "fortunate" isn't a real life plan. When he dumps you or drops dead of a heart attack and you find out you can only get a job cleaning nursing home bedpans or other traditional "women's work" for $7.25 an hour, then will you still be whining about those who fought for you to have any job at all?
If if this were all true, and some of it is, Sunshine Mary misses the point of being an enlightened being.
Just because women, on average, are physically weaker than men it doesn't mean that they should live their lives as baby making and cleaning machines.
I feel really sorry for this woman.
Mary, If you and I end up in a shipwreck situation, then I'm killing and eating you. If it's any consolation, if I were anything like the men you want me to be, then I'd probably rape you first.
The comic book store where I work is moving. Over 4 days, we moved 350 boxes of back issues. I'd guess 100 lbs each. I lifted more than most of the guys, probably because I like to lift things for fun.
I don't know why people find it so hard to believe that a woman would write this. Exposure to fundamentalist religion fucks you up, and Christianity is already all about the belief that you are a terrible person and can only be helped by a greater power, even for men.
Bitch keeps bitchin'.
I know a woman. She's mentally strong and intelligent, and was able to support herself and my alcoholic father, and me, until she had the money to send his ass to rehab. This woman is my mother.
I also know a woman. She's very mentally strong, physically strong, and talented. She works hard, keeping rythym. She's Johna, our bassist.
There's Lilian, a girl who has lifted heavy equipment such as amplifiers and huge boxes. In her spare time, she knits baby coats. She's our roadie. She's rather important, what with those rowdy-ass clubs we play in.
Mary, break out. They're controlling you. If you want to dress in a hoop skirt and stay home, caring for children, I'm fine. But don't tell other women they will never excel at things men have failed. Everyone is capable of anything.
Right now, you're being a dreary bitch.
I wish that posters here would stop assuming this is actually a man. There's more than enough self-hating women in the world, I'm sorry to say. Not to mention that most of the misogynists I've met would balk at the idea of impersonating a woman, even on the Internet.
"ask yourself this question, ladies. Would you rather be shipwrecked on a desert island with a man or another woman?"
Oh, come come now, you know that's not a fair question. Ask a heterosexual woman about being "shipwrecked on a desert island with a man", and she'll start fantasizing about Brad Pitt.
God, I can't even bring myself to make fun of Sunshine Mary, on any of her quotes. Everything she posts just makes me feel incredibly sorry for her. Seriously, all of you, imagine what kind of childhood this poor woman must've had to make her think of herself and her gender as pathetic worthless fuckpuppets whose only purpose is making babies and serving men?
I can't even bring myself to be angry at Mary, I just want to give her a hug and see the assholes who made her like she is punished.
@Liz_7
Yeah, her spiel is vile, but, given that she doesn't even exclude herself from her horrible view of women, I can't see her as anything but a brainwashed victim. I mean, people don't just start hating themselves that much without some outside influence.
shipwrecked on a desert island with a ... woman
Err, ahem!... Sexy thoughts aside...
Mary, if I had a choice of women with whom I would have to be shipwrecked on an desert island with, you would not be one of them as you would, in all likelihood, be quite useless in a survival situation. Nobody would want to be with a woman who thinks she is a helpless, brainless, weakling that needs constant protection.
Do you really hate your own gender that much?
Knowledge and ability are more important than gender. A woman who knows what she's doing is worth far more than any man without a clue.
As for Mary, I lean towards the g.i.r.l. hypothesis. If it were an actual woman, there would be more self-loathing and attacking other "worldly" women.
My mom was a Rosie Riveter, assembled the Weber carburetors for the Allison airplane engines. That's hero(ine) stuff to me, right there.
She also had arms like Popeye. I'd almost rather be spanked by Dad.
"Properly trained."
So...you see women as basically brainless, daffy creatures who require the careful guidance of a man to keep them on task and useful. Including yourself.
I wish I could say that you were a male masquerading as a female online. I really do. Unfortunately, I've actually met women as dementedly broken and brainwashed as you.
I'd rather shipwrecked alone, taking care of another person would be troubling, and having being trouble to someone else really isn't a idea I like.
Oh and like most people said, women can take care of themselves too. The perfect companion a deserted island would be someone with other stenghts and (usefull) skills than you, regardless of gender.
"We are able to do this one thing that men cannot do; in every other area, we are inferior and it is merely an illusion propped up by artifice that we are equal to men."
You are clearly speaking only for yourself. It sounds like your parents made sure you lack self esteem.
You are a weak-willed, corruptible, spoiled, useless appendage on the ass of humanity and I am slightly less proud to be a human because of what you wrote.
Well, sorry to wake you up, but many men who have been shikwrecked have died because of lack of abilities and women have survived. And something else, many of the last inventions of the twentieth, or twentieth first century, have been made by women, and not just in the West. In other words, you wouldn't be writing this, if a woman hadn't invented, for example, THE VERY COMPUTER PROGRAM that connects you with internet.
With modern technology, your scenario of shipwrecking goes nowhere. Let's put a more plausible one. If your theory were true, Europe and United States would have collapsed during the two world wars, and those are indiputable facts. There was no male workforce and women have to replace them. Result?, exactly the same. How do you explain that?
Confused?
