(I'm french & live in France)
That's true only of the biggies. The ones with touristic interest(maybe 15 of them in the country). Others(thousands of them) don't even have shops. Catholic priests are mostly from Africa, and spend their time running from one church to another. They make several services every sundays, and also serve sometimes on saturdays.
My grandmother lives in a pensioners's home. There are around 80 residents, most of them in their 80s or 90s. The catholic priest goes once a week, on thursdays. Only 5 or 6 residents attend the office.
At the same time, due to lack of proper buildings, countless muslims pray directly in the streets, or in buildings far too small(which is a problem of fire security : if it begins to burn, dozens will die a death I wish to nobody).
In the town I lived before, muslims had bought a crappy old house un the centertown, which they refurbished as they could(most of them have crappy jobs and not much budgets). A house for a family of 5, 6, maybe. I've seen 80 of them enter there for the ramadan. In terms of security, it's a recipe for disaster. The mayor didn't see any problem, though, but if they burn, he'll be responsible.
Both are sad. Churches from the middle ages are beautiful buildings that are of no use today, muslims lack buildings, and they gather in dangerous, unhealthy conditions.
I can't WTF the message, he just says what he heard from someone who saw my beautiful country(though he's certainly fundie).
