I do find it slightly frustrating that black man/white woman is more socially acceptable than white man/black woman (see the TV Tropes "Where Da White Women At" entry), but as long as we're taking steps towards racial blindness in romantic unions, our civilization is making progress.

The only historical barrier I see in the States possibly making WM/BW "less socially tolerated" than BM/WW would be the matters of how WM/BW related to antebellum sociopolitical matters, and the spectre that such brought.

Where did you hear that? The odds of a black man raping a white woman are actually pretty slim. Rape is usually commited withing ones OWN RACE.

Being a straight bloke I need to turn this argument around. Would I have a sexual union with a black woman? Hell, yeah! I can think of many black women I would union with in a heartbeat. With their consent, of course. I'm not condoning rape here.
Not just the famous ones like Halle Berry etc,, either. Some of the women I see of primarily West African descent I see on my frequent trips to Italy make me go so weak at the knees I need to lie down.
