Both atheists and islamists have no deity, atheists : God does not exist islamists : cannot define God, don't know who or what He is, in effect there is no God, only killing innocent women and children in His name and taking over their lands, wealth,minds and bodies

We atheists are not nearly many enough to create secular government, we had help from all the moderately religious people who realized that religion has no place in government, just as government has no place in Church. With Civil Rights comes a thing called Freedom of religion, which states that everyone has the right to whatever religion he/she/other wants and the right to have no religion at all.

The Middle East and North Africa are rife with religious governments, who have banned, not that deadly cult, but another one, LONG ago. Happy?

Atheists don't bother with religions vs. cults, it's all fairy tales to us, and nothing that concerns us (shouldn't concern us, at least).

Islamists have the god of Abraham, stupid; YHWH, Allah, Elohim/Eli, God, Dios, Dieu, whatever you want to name him.

Check out Israel/Palestine, there you have a lot of that "killing innocent women and children in His name and taking over their lands, wealth,minds and bodies". Their biggest backer is the US of A.

And as - if they succeeded, re. their Worldwide Caliphate ambitions - they would force you to convert to Islam or die, surely the fact they hate Freedom means that, if anything, you should be on our side; 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend', and all that jazz

Rule of Law as we in the Democratic secular West have). Because a Sharia-based government would ban you. And in the Theocratic Saudi Arabia, where the only religion allowed to exist there is ultra-orthodox Wahhabi Islam, and has strict Sharia-based government & legal system (Three words: Church and State), therefore...!

Jeebus, can't we get this straight? America supposedly has a Christian government because the Founders were christian, but we don't have a christian government because of the all-powerful Atheists are creating secular governments. Which is it, you moron?

Islamists have no diety? Well, perhaps you have heard of the Azan, or call to prayer. I asked a Muslim friend what the song was they were singing five times a day. I was told it was a call to prayer to Allah, and roughly translated:

Allah is great, Allah is great.
I bear witness that there is none
worthy of worship except Allah.
I bear witness Muhammad is the
Messenger of Allah.
Hasten to the prayer.
Hasten to success.

Now, I'm an atheist, but I recognize a call to a diety when I see one, if only so I can avoid them. And I know atheists do not have, never had nor do we need, a god.

Along with non-dangerous cults, other organized religions, and heretics who follow the "wrong" sect. We've HAD religious governments in the past and though there have been notable exceptions, many persecuted the hell out of everyone else.

Mainly because every religion and cult thinks it's true and calls all of the others false religions or cults. And given that their beliefs are a matter of faith, there is no way to verify which is true. So to an outsider's perspective they all look the same.

That is at best something more like Sufism, a somewhat obscure little Islamic sect, which encourages its followers to seek their own understanding of God, rather then blindly accepting scripture. Apparently their beliefs can be so out there that the conservative Muslims often accuse them of outright apostasy. Extremists like the Taliban would gladly torture and publicly execute such a radical if they got the chance.

The non-Sufi Muslims, which is about 99% of their population, have an impression of divinity, just as stagnant as the mainstream of Judaism and Christianity.

There might be a little grain of truth in this.

There is a very clear pattern among many "New Atheists"/"Militant Atheists" to be harsh on Christianity and soft on Islam and there's also a very obvious refusal to recognize which religion is more dangerous.

For this he was banned due to "Islamophobia". On a "militant" atheist forum of all places where you're supposed to be able to have open and honest discussions about how theologies affect the world.

We also see that folks like Pat Condell and Thunderf00t are demonized by other atheists (usually left-wing atheists) when they criticize Islam, we see folks like Coughlan616 a supposed atheist who makes more videos defending Islam rather than actually criticizing any religion.

We see Pamela Geller quoted on FSTDT for her criticism of Islam or Islamist groups in America, even though atheists who say extreme things about Christianity never get quoted.

And I could go on and on and on about how many people who identify as "atheist" or "progressive" defend a religion that is anything but progressive.

And I could go on and on and on about how many people who identify as "Teabagger" or "conservative" - through their voting for their poster boy - aided a religion that is anything but progressive.

There were Muslim immigrants in the US in the 19th Century. So why no complaints about them before a certain day in the early 21st Century...?!
