Durban — A KwaZulu-Natal traditional healer who conspired to murder a woman with albinism has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Mtubatuba High Court.

Bhekukufa Lindeni Gumede, 65, was the fourth person to be convicted of murdering Thandazile Mpunzi in the Phelendaba area, near Ingwavuma on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast in 2015.

Gumede's co-accused Mandla Mabuzo and Lindokuhle Khumalo pleaded guilty to the murder in September 2015 and were each sentenced to 20 years in prison. Another accused, Siyabonga Gwala, received an 18-year sentence in February last year for his role in the murder.

Prior to the murder, Gumede told his co-accused that he needed the body of an female with albinism.

He said that "muthi", mixed with the body parts of a person with albinism, would make them rich.

Mpunzi was born with albinism and had been in a relationship with Gwala before the men conspired to kill her.

According to National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Natasha Kara, in mid-August 2015, Mpunzi was lured to a secluded area and strangled by the men. They took her body to a nearby forest, from where it was transported by the accused to another area.

"They met the following day and dismembered the body, taking away certain body parts. At a later stage they moved the remains of her body to another part of the forest, where it was buried."

Kara said the men used the Gumede's vehicle to transport the body.

Some of the accused were arrested on August 18, 2015, leading to the discovery of the decomposing remains of Mpunzi.

KwaZulu-Natal Director of Public Prosecutions Moipone Noko welcomed the sentence.

"An innocent life was snuffed out due to dangerous beliefs and practices."

Mauritania and Brahim Ould Daddah #fundie news24.com

Nouakchott - Showing repentance will no longer prevent the death penalty from being applied for blasphemy and apostasy, Mauritania said on Friday, as the conservative Muslim nation hardens up its religious laws.

The decision follows the release on November 9 of a blogger previously condemned to death for criticising religious justification for discrimination in Mauritanian society.

A new bill will "harden up expected sentences for blasphemers," the government of the west African nation said in a statement released by the official AMI news agency.

"Every Muslim, man or woman, who mocks or insults Mohammed (peace be upon him), his angels, books... is liable to face the death penalty, without being asked to repent. They will incur the death penalty even if they repent," Justice Minister Brahim Ould Daddah said, according to the statement.

The decision to free blogger Cheikh Ould Mohamed Ould Mkheitir for time served after his sentence for blasphemy was downgraded from death to two years in jail caused clashes and outrage in Mauritania last week.

A Muslim in his thirties, Mkheitir was sentenced in December 2014 over a blog which questioned decisions taken by the Prophet Mohammed and his companions during holy wars in the seventh century.

He also attacked the mistreatment of Mauritania's black population, blasting "an iniquitous social order" with an underclass that was "marginalised and discriminated against from birth."

Prosecutors have appealed the decision to release the blogger and are calling once more for the death penalty to be handed down.

Mauritania has not carried out the death penalty since 1987.

Justice Minister Ould Daddah said times had changed since the original law was written in 1983, and "consequentially the law has to move on," AMI reported.

Andre Slade #racist news24.com

Durban – A KwaZulu-Natal based radio presenter said she was reeling after interviewing Sodwana Bay Guest House owner, Andre Slade on Thursday afternoon.

“I knew that there was hatred but I did not know that someone could hate you so deeply because of the colour of your skin. It’s shocking,” said Vuma FM presenter Jacinta Ngobese, 28 - who is herself black - of her interview with Slade during her lunch time radio show, The Brunch.

Slade was interviewed during the show, which aired between 09:00 and 12:00 on Thursday.

Slade made headlines on Thursday after an e-mail he sent to a would-be visitor to Sodwana Bay Guest House in northern KwaZulu-Natal, went viral. The e-mail read, “Hi. We do not accommodate blacks or government officials any longer.”

The e-mail was reportedly signed Enki Andre M Slade, with the postscript Proverbs 29:2, which read: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn”.

In the 19-minute radio interview, Ngobese called the guesthouse and asked to speak to Slade. The woman who answered asked her if she was from the media.

Ngobese said no.

When Slade answered the phone he realised that he was speaking to the media.

Ngobese asked Slade if she could book accommodation for next week and Slade responded by saying, “No you won’t be able to because you are phoning about a statement I made last night and it is now world news.

“We have not had any phone calls for a long time and then in one day we have so many blacks phoning for accommodation.”

'You are not homosapien'

Slade then asked Ngobese if she was black and she asked him why did the colour of her skin matter.

He responded by saying he was asking because the guesthouse did not accommodate black people.

When she asked him what was wrong with black people he said, “Well, we have to restore what is happening in the world right now and the hierarchy of the world is wrong at this point in time.”

He said black people were servants and the Bible made it very clear.

When asked which Bible he was referring to, he said the King James Bible.

Slade told Ngobese that his Bible said he could not mix with another race.

“We do not have the same blood, skin, hair and there is about 300 differences between you and me,” he said.

Slade said he had melanin because he was royal and Ngobese was short of it because she was an animal.

“You are classified in the Bible as an animal, you are not homosapien.”

Slade said if Ngobese was intelligent, she should go and read the book [Bible].

“Most of the times that we get blacks walking through these doors, they bring prostitutes here and they fuck all night in their rooms and make me feel uncomfortable.

“They bring booze here and sit and get drunk and break things…And when my maid has left, they come to me and demand things. They ask me to clean their bedrooms…”

He said white people did not behave that way.

“I have never had this problem with white people,” said Slade.

He said black people were “not people”.

The presenter then offered Slade an opportunity to spend a week with her and other black people but he referred her to a woman called Katalina.

Ngobese said afterwards, “I was saddened by how much hatred he has for black people. I feel like he needs help. He is oblivious to reality and he is clearly naïve about black people.”

Ngobese said not all black people behaved the way Slade had described.

“I am traumatised by the interview. I would be interested, and hope others will join me, in teaching him about black people and what it feels like to be treated like nothing.

“Maybe then he will understand that he is wrong,” she said.

KwaZulu-Natal Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs MEC Sihle Zikalala said he was investigating the matter.

Cecil Begbie #fundie news24.com

Cape Town – Special prayers directed at Pollsmoor Prison in Cape Town cleansed convicted killer Aljar Swartz of his demons, a reverend told the Western Cape High Court during sentencing proceedings on Thursday.

"There was a day when I engaged in special prayers for him, where I invited the congregation [in Rondevlei] to stand and to raise their hands towards Pollsmoor Prison and we all then united in prayer, not only for Aljar, but for all inmates of Pollsmoor Prison, including the staff as well," Methodist Reverend Cecil Begbie told the court.

Speaking during arguments in mitigation of sentence, he said he had met Swartz about five times and it was clear that he was demon-possessed.

Swartz was recently found guilty of the premeditated murder of 15-year-old Lee Adams, as well as three counts of incitement to commit murder.

He admitted to beheading the teenager in 2013 so he could sell the body parts to a sangoma.

Pollsmoor Prison turned down Begbie's application to perform an exorcism. The defence would have filmed it.

Begbie, who had been a minister for almost 50 years, said he was left with no other option but to call upon congregations and the international community to pray for Swartz.

A radical change had then taken place in Swartz, he said.

Relatives of Adams, dressed in the teen’s favourite colour purple, shook their heads at the testimony.

Swartz apparently shared a "very special experience" with the reverend when he visited him in cells at the high court.

"There was a moment about three weeks ago when he felt as though he was standing under a waterfall and pure clean water flowed through his whole body and after that experience. He felt he was totally set free of all demons," said Begbie.

"That means the almighty God, who is not restricted to walls of prisons or prison bars, actually administered to him supernaturally as a result of all prayers. I could also then sense that, yes, there was a radical change in Aljar."

Swartz was able to sleep properly for the first time in years. He experienced tremendous peace of heart and mind, Begbie said.

Prior to this experience, a spiritual counsellor at the prison had led Swartz "to accept Christ".

After seeing him this week, Swartz told him he wanted to apologise to Adams’ family, his school and the court.

Listening to Begbie, Swartz stroked his beard and appeared unmoved.

Judge Elize Steyn told Swartz's lawyer, Sheriff Mohamed, that she was not going to allow him to lead evidence on "magic, witchcraft and all other things".

"How many times in South African law has the court allowed 'the devil made me do it?' The court has never accepted it."

She said she would make a note that it was Begbie's view that Swartz was no longer possessed by demons.

Mathole Motshekga #fundie news24.com

The Homo naledi discovery has barely seen the light of day and already an ANC MP has challenged scientists for a debate on the “whole truth about evolution”.

Dr Mathole Motshekga, who is an ANC member of Parliament and executive director of the Kara Heritage Institute, caused a storm on Twitter yesterday after he made controversial statements about the discovery of the fossils of a new species in Gauteng.

Motshekga made his doubts known on a chat show on radio station 702.

He later told City Press that the Homo naledi find confirmed “pseudo science that Africans are descendents of baboons”.

He insisted that it was his and the Kara Institute’s position, and not the position of the ANC.

Earlier yesterday, President Jacob Zuma and Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa had praised the discovery.

The president said from Tuynhuys at Parliament hat he was very excited about the discovery and was proud that it had happened in South Africa.

“Our country is truly the cradle of mankind,” he said.

Motshekga insisted that he values scientific work.

“But the African story can not only be told with stones and skulls. There is ancient literature about the universe that offers a broader perspective.”

According to him, the Kara Heritage Institute had done a lot of research. A lot of “ancient knowledge” was being suppressed.

Motshekga later replied by text message: “Palaeontology seeks to establish that humanity evolved from apes. This is based on the Western materialist world view which says ‘the world is all that is’.”

According to Motshekga this approach is one-sided and misleading and it leaves out of account the Kemetic (African) literature showing that the material universe and humanity evolved from and are made of the same substance with the creator.

“This idea is contained in the Kemetic law of correspondence which says ‘As above, so below’. A human being is both spiritual and material and pre-exists its material shape. Attempts to link human ancestors and apes are a futile exercise.”
Motshekga said a total paradigm shift was needed to educate people.

He also referred to the ancient text of Egyptian philosopher Hermes Mercurius Trismegistus, The Divine Pymander.

The document has been hailed as the book of all books in which the true knowledge of God and nature was contained.

“It provides a different view on how we understand evolution,” he said. “I challenge them [scientists] to a debate on this.”

The Democratic Alliance praised the scientists for the discovery and labelled it as a great achievement for South Africa.

Nakura police #fundie news24.com

Nakuru - Tens of young men suspected to be homosexuals were arrested on Sunday night at a popular Nakuru bar known to be gay friendly.

The young men, mostly university and college students, were arrested by police in the wee hours of the morning as they partied.

According to police reports, officers carried out the raid at the popular bar after residents complained about the students' indecent gay acts.

Confirming the incident Monday morning, Nakuru police boss Bernard Kioko said that those arrested were openly engaging in indecent sexual acts in the bar.

“We have been hearing of these things (homosexuality) happening at this place and people have been complaining about how increasingly young men in Nakuru town are turning towards that line and that is why we decided to ambush them today and what we saw there was despicable and if that is the route our young men are following then in the next few years there will be no society,” said Kioko.

Kioko added that the Kenyan constitution outlaws homosexuality and sexual indecency in public saying that those arrested will be arraigned in court on Tuesday.

Kioko cautioned bar owners against allowing outlawed acts to be practiced within their premises and warned that such bars will be closed down.

Atheists and Islamists are two peas in a pod.

It is the Atheists who have created secular governments that allow islamists freedom to operate in every little village on this planet with impunity

A religious government would have banned this deadly cult LONG ago

Atheists cannot ascertain true religion from cults

Both atheists and islamists have no deity, atheists : God does not exist islamists : cannot define God, don't know who or what He is, in effect there is no God, only killing innocent women and children in His name and taking over their lands, wealth, minds and bodies

Here's a big up yours to both of you :

Atheism is a psychosis

The presence of God is surprisingly easy to ‘sense’ and thus prove. I have never properly understood why atheists denied His presence until I had an ‘aha’ moment yesterday: Atheists suffer from psychosis in much the same way that a serial killer does.

The serial killer feels no guilt for his actions. There is no point asking a serial killer why he has committed his foul deeds, because when Satan enters one’s soul the possessed person becomes unable to grasp what the rest of us take for granted. He can’t fathom why normal people feel compassion. There is a missing link in his thought process and he needs to be jailed until he comes right with God.

Indeed, asking an atheist to define our moral code is like asking Jack the Ripper to run Life-Line.

But . . . back to that ‘sixth-sense’ which we Christians have of God. I feel it is acceptable to state that there is a sense of what is True in this world, and that it cannot be put into words. The French call it a ‘je ne sais quoi’ -- a certain something! Hence the silly assumption that man (scientists and atheists) can try and find Jesus under a microscope. It doesn’t work like that. Knowing Jesus is a profound ‘feeling’ that cannot be denied and in fact drives everything a True Christian does. Christians automatically have that ‘je ne sais quoi’ and others can sense it in them. The way a person who walks with Christ carries his or herself will even appear different. There is a spring in their step that only a fellow believer will understand.

I mention all this because to us as Christians, atheists appear as prisoners in a glass box, screeching to get out yet denying what they see through that glass. That is the irony! All they have to do is smash the glass and step into the light.

If there are any seekers out there who are sick of the cobbled-together lies peddled by ‘science’ then I suggest that you start by asking God for help. Put some heart into it! You have to make the first move.

"Nowhere is this more apparent than in silly proposals like Bertrand Russell’s Flying Teapot, in which he postulates that there might very well be a teapot orbiting the sun, but because it’s so far and so small, we cannot observe it, therefore there is no proof it’s not there. He equates this with a belief in the God of the Bible.
He cannot prove God doesn’t exist, we cannot prove He does. He, and millions of others like him, forget one very important little thing.
None of us has ever seen the wind: we can’t because it’s invisible air. We can, however, see the results of its action, feel it on our skin and know without a doubt that it’s there. Just as we can see the results of the life of Christ on the world.
I believe it is wilful ignorance and is written to trap the unwary. I believe it is just one of Satan’s many ploys."

Harris not only forgets that his argument cuts both ways, but also fails to see how logic clearly dictates that the correct solution to the Extinction Equation would be to put an end to science rather than religion. The five major religions, Hinduism, Chinese folk religion, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam have collectively been around 33 times longer than modern science without ever once threatening the species, whereas in a mere 350 years, science has managed to produce multiple threats to continued human existence.

So the collected religions have been around for a combined 11 600 years and have not managed to even threaten the eradication of mankind, whereas science, as we know it, has been around for a mere 350 years, and since the 6th and 7th August, 1945, the world has been under the constant threat of annihilation.

The National Fatwa Council (Malaysia) #fundie news24.com

Kuala Lumpur - One of Malaysia's highest Islamic bodies has banned females from dressing or behaving like men and engaging in lesbian sex, saying it was forbidden by the religion.

The National Fatwa Council late on Thursday issued its ruling following a two-day meeting that discussed recent cases of young women apparently behaving like men and exhibiting homosexual tendencies, state news agency Bernama reported.

Council chairperson Abdul Shukor Husin told Bernama many young women admired the way men dress, behave and socialise, violating human nature and denying their femininity.

"It is unacceptable to see women who love the male lifestyle including dressing in the clothes men wear," Abdul Shukor was quoted as saying.

"(Masculine behaviour) becomes clearer when they start to have sex with someone of the same gender, that is woman and woman," he said.

"In view of this, the National Fatwa Council which met today have decided and taken the stand that such acts are forbidden and banned," he said.

Male homosexuality, considered against the order of nature, is illegal in Malaysia but lawyers say female homosexuality is technically permissible as there are no provisions for it under the law.

Freedom of speech can only be applicable if it falls within the absolute moral law of God. Why? Because His law (fullfilled in Christ) protects us from judgement. In order to protect the individual from the wrath of God I would pray/hope that this worldview of human rights (i.e. if it is against God's absolute moral law) would end soon, because I fear the JUST wrath of God against humanity!!
