It IS a lie. There is NO separation of church and state. It NOT found in the Constitution. No Where!!! Like I said ONLY congress can establish a religion, but the Constitution forbids them.
This is the tactic you atheists and liberals are trying to use to squash freedom of religion. Only in America, with our un-Godly, un-righteous courts, could such a charade have been foisted upon us. There is no separation between the church and the state. They just tell us that there is and then they use that to dredge our children through the cesspool of secular humanism.

"freedom of religion"
Which afchief, like all fundies, defines as 'Freedom for ME and all others whose religous convictions are 100% identical to mine to *demand* that EVERYONE else be FORCED to base their lives on those convictions!'
When the First Amendment prohibits establishing an official religion and prohibits restricting the free exercise of, that essentially is a wall of separation between church and state.
If we don't have separation of church and state, then I think it's about time the state start levying taxes against the churches. We could feed the poor from taxing the megachurches alone.
"Congress shall make no law respecting am establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
Note that this does not stop Congress from prohibiting activities that may be involved in religious exercise, unless you think the New Azteks should be allowed to perform human sacrifice. It does, however, mean that Congress cannot specifically ban a religion.
* The 1st Amendment of The U.S. Constitution.
* Article 11 of the Treaty of Tripoli.
* Thomas Jefferson's 1801 letter to the Danbury Baptist Association.
When Religion and Government are kept separate, both remain pure and just. Separation of Religion & State preserves your right to be a ChristoFrum as well as the rights of a non-believer. It's so that ALL people of all persuasions (including the Wingnuts & Moonbats) can live together in peace without killing each other.
The U.S.A. is a strictly SECULAR government founded on Age Of Reason principles! GET OVER IT!
Yeah, those lying un-Godly Founding Fathers, foisting a charade of Separation of Church and State upon you! What did they know about the Constitution, right?
Cesspool of secular humanism? If anything is a cesspool, it's religion!
You've never actually read the US Constitution have you, afchuff ?
We Brits have a state religion: the Protestant Church of England. So care to explain why the bishops & archbishops of said C-of-E in the House of Lords dropped their opposition to same-sex marriage, thus the Bill going through Parliament at that time breezed through the House of Commons & was rubber-stamped by MPs there, thus making S-SM legal here a few years ago...?
What was the reason why you lot over there were fighting against the forces of Britain's King George III in that little kerfuffle known as the War of Independence? Nah, can't have anything to do with the fact that he - as monarch of the UK - was also the head of the Church of England: a religion you lot wanted to be separate from...?! [/mega-paradox]
I suggest you never read something else drawn up by those same Founding Fathers: the Treaty of Tripoli. Article 11 would do infinitely worse than just annihilate your 'argument'. >:D
>Like I said ONLY congress can establish a religion, but the Constitution forbids them. [emphasis mine]
Wait, so Congress can do something it's forbidden to do? Care to try again chief?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
