In my personal experience, if I miss Church on a Sunday, I drift away from God and my mind is opened to demonic influence. I would say that there are manifestations of demonic power over people today, and that the New Testament is correct in what it says.

If missing the opportunity to get up early and deal with getting your reluctant children up and ready, dress in your best clothes and go to an obligatory meeting during which you will have to repeatedly apologize for being human causes you to fall from your faith...maybe that's not such a bad thing.
It's pretty sad when someone has to receive a weekly dose of brainwashing in order to keep their mind clear of "demonic influence." It truly frightens me that the only thing keeping a lot of people from doing evil is going to a certain building on Sunday morning.
What about people like me who never go to church and can avoid demons and doing evil on our own?
Strangely enough, my personal beliefs stay fairly constant without needing to top them up every week with positive reinforcement therapy. Maybe that's because I frame my beliefs to actually be consistent with the world around me, rather than just making some shit up which is being continually contradicted by it.

You should probably go to church then.

You would be quite wrong. That's just people disagreeing with you, try not to confuse the two.

About what? The NT says a great many things. Some of them are correct, some of them are probably good advice, some of them are outright wrong.
At 55, I have never been to a church on a Sunday my whole life and I'm doing just fine, thank you very much!
Right now, I think I crave a lobster and seafood sandwich from Quiznos, yes folks, that demonic sandwich is drawing me in, must be all the Sundays I missed church! Oh well, I will cave in then!
If your religious beliefs are so weak that you have to have constant reinforcement, then maybe you should take a long, hard look at those beliefs and why you believe them.
I'm firmly convinced that there is no god and that the story of Jesus was made up by the authors of the gospels, but I don't need anyone to keep reminding me of this on a weekly basis.

Yeah, be careful, not going to church might cause you to think for yourself, very dangerous indeed.
Isn't your God supposed to be omni-present or something? Are you saying he can't protect you from demons if you miss a Sunday going to church? He's a bit of a weenie isn't he?

Or just maybe, it is the brainwashing wearing off.

Or maybe if you miss Church on a Sunday, God drifts away from you. You'd think He'd remember who kissed His holy ass for more than a week ...
Oh, that must be why Australia must be in bad shape with only 10% attending church.
What's that, it isn't? Then why spew stuff from a bull's rear end?
Just be wary Spud. You may consider yourself free of demonic influence, but it pays to be cautious. For instance, you might be infested by the demon Godbotherer.
Or, if you're unlucky, the demons Nose Poker, Received Opinion, GoMadForInvisibleThings, Inhumanity, Prurience and CrazyForHatred can play havoc with your ability to function as a sane person.
In particular, keep an eye out for the demons Projectile Troll, Humourless Numpty, Prating Dunderhead and Canting Jerk, these demons can inflict even the most careful of souls with severe bouts of gullibility and an overbearing fondness for nonexistent things.
Blast! I get the feeling that my warning has come too late for you.
@troll
you really are a bit dense, aren't you? he's not bothering me, I look up this nonsense on my own volition. But he IS complaining, publicly on the internet, about how not attending church makes him feel threatened by demons. This is not just pathetic for the obvious reasons, but also because he could simply attend church regularly and forgo all the dumb troubles.
I've met people who believe that laying on hands can heal and that the tears of the virgin mary are.. something or other.. but even they wouldn't say something this pathetic.
In my personal experience, if I miss mosque on a Friday, I drift away from Allah and my mind is opened to infidel influence. I would say that there are manifestations of demonic power over people today, and that the Koran is correct in what it says.
Confused?
