[I've always wondered why god always chose the ignorant, meek, humble and illiterate to reveal his precepts to.]
He says why -- to confound Homo sapienism:
1 Corinthians 1:27a But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise;
[Homo Sapienism?! What on earth is that meant to mean?]
The belief that we are Homo sapiens, along with all the scientific justification and associated rhetoric.

Joey: "Ross, if the Homo Sapiens were in fact Homo Sapiens, is that why they're extinct?"
Ross: "Joey, Homo Sapiens are people"
Joey: "Hey, I'm not judging!"
"I've always wondered why gawd always chose the ignorant, meek, humble and illiterate to reveal his precepts to"
Because you have to be ignorant, meek, humble and illiterate to fall for it you stupid fucking dolt.
"He says why -- to confound Homo sapienism:"
Homo sapiens has become a dreaded "-ism" now?
"1 Corinthians 1:27a But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise;"
You realize this was likely written by someone who was confounded by the things the wise said (like, "why the hell would I believe this shit you're telling me?" for instance) and came to the incorrect conclusion that it's everyone else who doesn't know what they're talking about.
"The belief that we are Homo sapiens, along with all the scientific justification and associated rhetoric."
I see your mind hasn't improved any, AV. You're still as insane as ever.
Yes. This is all very well, but relies on a slight difficulty, namely that the Bible is factual. Factual, in as much as the facts it blathers about pertain to reality. Clearly it doesn't pertain to reality, and is for those who want a bedtime fairy tale to send them to sleep.
You don't seem to get the fact that not everyone is mentally retarded and that the vast majority of us are capable of at least understanding the rudiments of science and of benefiting from their application, even if we are not able to directly participate in science's furtherance.
As for "knowing manisms", I'm not hip to modern slang daddy-o, but far out man! I forgive you anyway, as you are obviously unwell.
I've always wondered why god always chose the ignorant, meek, humble and illiterate to reveal his precepts to.
He didn't. Paul chose the ignorant, meek, humble and illiterate to preach to, because they're easier to fool into believing somebody who tells them that God prefers you to be ignorant, meek, humble and illiterate.
"Sure I might be an ignorant, meek and humble illiterate, but as long as I believe in Jesus (and don't support abortion rights, be a homosexual or vote for a Democrat), I'll be among "the saved" and go to heaven. Then I can watch and snicker at all you Chardonnay-sipping New York liberals who, during life, made ten times as much money as me and had sex with better-looking women, as you weep and gnash your teeth in the LOF® (Lake O'Fire). Plus in heaven, I can have any pickup truck I want, even a big-ass Ford 550 Supercab with the 7.3L Powerstroke diesel and a wicked-looking pair of Smoker exhaust stacks. So there!"
> 1 Corinthians 1:27a But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise;
Okay then, we have slight trust issues. Supposedly omnipotent deity has nothing better to do than to fuck with the mortals.
> The belief that we are Homo sapiens, along with all the scientific justification and associated rhetoric.
Remind me again - is Homo Sapiensism worse than the dreaded Humanism?
Homo Sapiens means "wise man" so don't worry, you're clearly not that. In fact, I think fundies belong to an entirely different species, Homo Bardus.
Ah AV1611...isn´t this the guy who says that he is no Homo sapiens, but a "real man"?
Well, I don´t have any problem, with not being in the same species as AV1611 ;)
if he thinks that his level of christian fundamentalism (as well as his habit of using it as replacement for thinking processes and justification for intolerance) deserves that he be "cast out" from the species Homo sapiens, so be it.
But he should be consequent enough to not use any tools anymore that were made by Homo sapiens, such as computers, modern medicines, cars etc.
;)
So, AV is now contesting the fact that we are homo sapiens?
Also, if "God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise" that means AV was put on earth to confuse the smart people? Some God.
But we ARE Homo Sapiens. Hell, it's not even evolutionary biology that figured that one out: Carolus Linnaeus was a creationist Christian, and he's the guy who first labeled humans as the primates they are.
But...but...even a creationist would...
I'm sure he has a 'point', but bugger me, I can't find it.
The word 'sapiens' is Latin. It is declined
sapiens
sapientem
sapientis
sapienti
sapiente
There is no such word as sapienism - not even in English, which does tend to borrow and adapt readily from other languages.
And to demolish your foolish argument, look again at the quote: 'things' are not people.
Tu, mi amice, es stultissimus.
Get an education.
We are homo sapiens, well maybe not you Vet. Your likely this:

Homo neanderthalensis
(Apologies to neanderthals.)
You know, if you think about what he's saying, it still doesn't make any fucking sense.
Do you think he's one of Schafly's editors?
You know, there is an interpretation of this that kind of makes sense, although in a gramatically incorrect way.
It is pretty arrogant that we named our species "wise man" (or "wise person" according to my more modern Latin dictionary). The belief that we are "Homo sapiens" has got us into trouble plenty of times. Scientists are not immune.
It's a bit hard to tell, but it is possible that in this case AV1611VET is merely guilty of the failure to use inverted commas. Although I've read many of his quotes, and I think a lack of punctuation is probably the least of his worries.
God wants the same credulity from us that a con artists does. It's no surprise why a con artist wants such gullibility in his listeners, but why does Almighty God? AV's answer exacerbates the conundrum, rather than answering it.
"I've always wondered why god always chose the ignorant, meek, humble and illiterate to reveal his precepts to"
Because only people like AV1611VET will believe that kind of wharrrgarrble.
You are right AV1611VET, God is a particularly powerless deity and a rather stupid one at that. At least we agree on something AV1611VET, but I didn't think it would be that God is a useless nincompoop. However, credit where credit's due, your assertion that the Bible tells us that God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, is spot on. Well done you. And a more stupid plan it would be impossible to conceive of, even for a supposedly omniscient deity. It was a plan that was never going to work, since the foolish things of the world succeed only in confounding their fellow fools and other gullible idiots. The wise laugh their bollocks off at the antics of the stupid dolts, such as yourself AV1611VET.
Homo Sapienism?
Really?
REALLY?
Ah, yes. Remember the great debate about whether or not we are Homo Sapiens on the BBC. There sure was a lot of Homo Sapienist rhetoric being slung back and forth.
Except that never happened .
What are they going to start questioning next? Breathing air? Oxygenism? Is that what we're heading for? Cries against "Oxygenism rhetoric"? Seriously.
"[Homo Sapienism?! What on earth is that meant to mean?] "
I was wondering the same thing myself. I guess this person must think that a species name is somehow a religion or a dogma.
By the way, with the rest of the quote AV1611VET does not make any sense to me with that babbling.
FOR AN AWARENESS OF THE IMPORTANCE OF STUPIDITY
O Lord, we beg your forgiveness for the sin of knowing that which men were not meant to know.
Please, O Lord, shower us, your earthly knaves, with the gift of stupidity that we may effortlessly absorb your commandments.
As we fire the heretic and boil the non-Godist, let us praise your mighty gift of implacable mercilessness.
We stupid dolts, who are totally at a loss without the divine fuel of your voice-in-the-head, do give our sincere and heartfelt thanks for breeding us from bumpkins and numskulls.
Amen
PS. Sorry, O Lord, for the sin of jets roaring through your living room.
Amen
So, what you're saying is that we're not Homo Sapiens. Therefore, we're not "Man who thinks".
Well, that explains a lot.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
