“I think abortion is wrong, and terribly sad (for lack of better terms) and I would never have one. I also think that it's not my place to tell other women what they can and can't do with their babies and their bodies— I just think with abortion, it's nobody's business except the woman who will be having the procedure. Yes, it's sad and there are usually other options. No, I would never have one. BUT, we're talking about other women here. Does this make sense??” Emily Wells
I was pleased to see that you concluded with “Does this make sense?”
To answer your question:
“I think the killing of Jews is wrong and terribly sad (for lack of a better term), and I would never kill one myself. But I think it's not my place to tell people what they can and can’t do with Jewish families. I just think with Jew-killing, it's nobody's business except the person who will be doing the killing. Yes, it's sad and there are usually other options. No, I would never kill one. BUT, we're talking about other people here. Does that make sense?"

In the one hand: a fully formed, thinking human being. In the other: a lump of barely recognizable tissue without a conscious brain.
I'd weigh the two properly but I'm afraid I might break the jew hand when it plummets through the floorboards.
I had to write an ethnography about a woman's rights topic in college. I chose abortion and found a very interesting trend. (I would like to mention at this point it was an undergrad ethnography and is in no way an authority on abortion. Just an interesting study I got to do.)
I interviewed classmates and managed to get a handful of self-described liberals and conservatives. Not one person said abortion was a good thing. No one agreed that it should be illegal either. They said that it was better to remain legal and safe despite a personal pro-life stance.
Ray, if you'd stop running your mouth and actually listen, you'd find out that both sides have a lot of common ground.
Ray... in one hand I have a petri dish with a fertilized embryo in it, in the other hand I have a 3 day old baby... I'm going to drop both of them and you can only stop me dropping one of them.
Which one? If you think they are the same, then you can't choose... but we all know damned well you'll choose the baby.
And that's why your response makes no sense...
Oh yes, quite right. Shoving Jews into ovens and gas chambers is EXACTLY THE SAME as a doctor popping a puny zygote before it even has a spine. Ray, will you ever cease to amaze with your impeccable, analytical mind?
Hypothetical question for Ray and others Like him. Say there is this potential child growing inside a womb. The mother is considering abortion. Now you know if the child is born it will be adopted by a loving family. A gay couple. So would you rather the child be abopted by a loving homosexual couple or be aborted?
Sadly I have a feeling most fundies would choose abortion.

No, that doesn't make sense. Jews are actual people, while tiny dots are not.
While we're on the topic of killing jews, Nazi Germany outlawed abortion.
While we're on the topic of things that don't make sense, bananaman has no grounds to demand that something make sense.
On Ray's Facebook, he often includes a picture of a fully developed fetus which demonstrates consciousness and self awareness. He never shows an image of a two day embryo. I wonder why?
Also, your series of images which just barely qualifies as a movie only won an award because you invented an award for it to win. Pitiful.
i often watch the squirrels in my front yard, chewing up entire full-grown oaks for breakfast, lunch and dinner. some might say those're mere acorns the tree rats are snacking on, but banana man tells me they're oaks.
Ray, you really have no concept of analogy, do you?
A clump of cells is not a sentient being. The living humans who were herded into ghettos then tortured and murdered in concentrations camps were . They were alive and capable of experiencing pain, degradation and loss.
No comparison. Check and mate, dumbfuck.
Emily Wells makes sense, yes. Bananaman does not.
"I think the killing of soldiers is wrong and terribly said (for lack of a better term), and I would never kill one myself. But I think it's not my place to tell people what they can and can’t do to their lives. I just think with soldiers, it's nobody's business except the person who will join up and the one who will be doing the killing. Yes, it's sad and there are usually other options. No, I would never kill one. BUT, we're talking about other people here. Does that make sense?"
Still doesn't make sense, but better than the Jew nonsense. You could also use germs, tapeworms or chicken, I guess; they are all more formed and (in two cases) more sentient than 8-12-week old fetuses.
"On Ray's Facebook, he often includes a picture of a fully developed fetus which demonstrates consciousness and self awareness. He never shows an image of a two day embryo. I wonder why?"
Possibly because he thinks that the only difference between a fully developed fetus and a two day embryo is size.
abortion is legal, killing Jews (or anyone else) is not.
I personally think abortion is a last resort and would counsel adoption but recognize that for the mothers health it may be required.

Ray... in one hand I have a petri dish with a fertilized embryo in it, in the other hand I have a 3 day old baby...
Ask Ray this way; a baby in one hand and a banana in the other...
Who in hell would ever ask Ray about making sense?
See, in that there first example, the only PROPER life at stake is that of the mother; killing a clump of cells to save an actual life is sometimes necessary.
In that there second example, you implied Godwin. Therefore, your argument is invalid. Frigging liar.
> I think abortion is wrong, and terribly sad (for lack of better terms) and I would never have one.
Hopefully not. It would be really weird if a man got pregnant.
Confused?
