*shrug* The president could be an atheist member of an equivalent to Britain's Monster Raving Looney Party but so long as (s)he puts the U.S. first and has a record of complete competency/sensibility, hey, I'm voting for that person. And (s)he could put his/her right hand on a hardbound copy of the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence during his/her inauguration if (s)he wishes. I'd be fine with that. Besides, the best political leaders do so with a pagan ethos, hello?
'In God We Trust' is just a bit of cold-war propaganda which violates the First Amendment. Heck, even Theodore Roosevelt thought it was inappropriate to put the name of God on money.
And show me any US president who ever behaved as a Christian. I've never seen one who paid any more than lip service to the concept, and I wouldn't want to either. The duty of a President is to act in the best interests of the USA, which in the twenty-first century is hardly likely to be the same as that of a tribe of nomadic bronze age shepherds.
"In God we Trust" and "under God" was added to money and the pledge of allegiance during the McCarthy era to smoke out all those nasty commies that good ol' Joe insisted was hiding in every broom closet, under beds, and in hallways. I, personally, would like the reminder of those hateful days removed from our lexicon.
One of them comments:
"A Man who doesn't expand his spiritual extension, could never become king!"
Is that sort of like a penis extension?
And besides, how can he say this yet claim that Hitler, mao, and Stalin were all atheists. Strangely enough every enemy of America had an atheist leader at the helm.
Pathetic, sad, idiotic people. Also, unamerican. The Constitution forbids any tests for religion or religious requirements to be president or hold any other office.
So, it doesn't really matter if the other guy is a socioeconomic genius or an incompetent facist-leaning douchebag; they'd vote for him simply because he believes in God.
Frankly, I have trouble even imagining this mindset: I know that I'd vote for a highly competent theist who I felt would respect religious freedom over someone inappropriate for the job who happened to be an atheist.
"Strangely enough every enemy of America had an atheist leader at the helm."
Jefferson Davis was an athiest? Meh, if these people can claim Hitler was a fan of Darwin *when he banned his book* they probably could paint the confederates as athiests and liberals.
You can continue to trust in your God, regardless of whether your president acknowledges him or not. Hell, you seem to consider every other president elected to be Satanic anyway, so what would really be the difference?

It's funny- Bush is the opposite of all of these things.
Being an agnostic deist, I don't normally pray for anything, but I'm praying hard right about now that Mrs. Cullen is NOT the wife of voice actor Peter Cullen (else good ol' Optimus would forfeit most, if not all, of his cool points).
Also, for the information of everyone who brought up the fact that "In God We Trust" on U.S. money was done in the 1950s: you're right, but only partly so. That's true for the paper money, but the coins got that treatment near the end of the Civil War .
Nice to see what traits really matter to these people; competence or certain beliefs.
Fortunately, the political parties themselves tend to chose competent candidates.
Hence the voter demographic that put Bush in twice. Stupid, no way around it. High qualifications and productive vision, screw that, we want the skydaddy believers!
When I saw Mrs. Cullen, my first thought was that she was 'married' to Tom Cullen of The Stand fame. Tom Cullen is mentally retarded, and if he would ever get married, he would probably marry someone of around the same intelligence. Makes sense to me.
What ever happened to "one nation, indivisible"
What ever happened to "E PLURIBUS UNUM" (out of many one"
But of course the modern memory doesn't seem to go past last Tuesday.
'Mrs. Cullen'? Married to Optimus Prime, much?! X3
@LadyJafaria
As she's an intellectual, and I like intellectuals; especially since her ascension into Alicornhood, I'm a Twilight fanboy . Of the Sparkly kind. /)^3^(\

In Fausticorn we trust. At least we can see her.
Presidents deal in politics, not religion which is a private matter.
If it was a case of electing people to the church council, then I'd look at what religion they had.
None of those points fit Trump (unless he's secretly an atheist). I guess they are against all of those scary things, then...
In God We Trust was added in the fifties, due to the Red Scare. The Founding Fathers said "E Pluribus Unum". What ever happened to that?
Confused?
