Wow. While I agree that Statism is pretty dangerous, it's not a religion or a cult, but a loose philosophy, or rather a trait of several philosophies.
That being said, Christianity is pretty damn statist the bible pretty much tells you to do whatever the government tells you what to do, pay taxes and pretty much let an ehtereal entity run your life for you.

I thought that religion was supposed to be a good thing to them? Oh right, only the religion of fundamentalist Christianity.
