Actually homophobe has two meanings. Fear of homosexuald or Extreme hate of homosexuals.
As for myself, I'm the latter.
Most of the time people think homophobe is a negative thing. I however find it as a neutral word, much like hateing spinach or ketchup.

So being hateful is okay and not a bad thing at all, because even extreme hate of fellow human beings is not as bad as fear of spinach or ketchup?
Let's make a deal: "Extreme hate" is "neutral" if and only if "being an insensitive bigot" is just as "neutral" and casually, without the least worry, applicable to people like you. Okay?
But see, that analogy only works if people start lobbying for a boycott against spinach.
And while, yes, it is horrible when steamed, it's otherwise a quite tasty food.
And what do you have against ketchup, anyways? What red-blooded American (or Canadian) doesn't like ketchup? After all, according to the movies, blood is ketchup. Therefore, we run on ketchup. (And vampires could get their fix from tomatoes.)
Well, if you don't think it's wrong to hate homosexuals, I hope you don't mind that I hate you, and wish that you really were soaked in octane (preferably something like 2,2,4-Trimethylpentane), with people flicking matches at you.
I mean, I usually don't like that people tend to say "die in a fire" so often here, but when someone has a username like that it feels like he brought it on himself.
Nope, homophobia is just the fear of homosexuals, which can manifest as extreme hate or anger otherwise known as bigotry or, as I like to call it, being an asshole.
The Greek word "phobia" does not even come close to the connotation of the word 'hate'. It means undue fear. Homophobia is the fear of homosexuals. If you're a homophobe, you're afraid of gays. It's simple. So, anyone got a match?

Wal, blow me down.
No, really, mate, turn to on me hornpipe here...
Oh, you compare a person with food, eh?
Well, I think disliking Christinas is like disliking a brand of toilet paper.
Soaked_In_Octane....
Hmmm - been trying to make C4, have you?
(n-octane is the solvent used in the RDX desensitisation process during C4 manufacture.)
Responding as half-a-pound of young spinach leaves, I say this is wrong, wrong, wrong.
@MK:
All I can say is... FOADIAF.
If that's the case, don't say anything. Such childish and abusive posts almost make me consider deserting this website. Almost, but not quite: it's too much fun.
What on earth impels people to post 'comments' like this, or 'WTF?' or 'ORLY?' It's been done a million times, and it signifies nothing. Have a fresh idea, for god's sake, people.

I have never seen anyone calling for spinach and ketchup to be outlawed, no matter how much they hate them.
Thundersqueaks: "I have never seen anyone calling for spinach and ketchup to be outlawed, no matter how much they hate them."
And rightly so; they should not be outlawed. Broccoli, on the other hand ...
Notice there's no such word as 'Fundyphobia'. Because a 'phobia' is defined as an irrational fear of something or someone. Like 'Ailurophobia', the fear of cats. What's to be afraid of? Homophobia, the fear of homosexuals is irrational too. Thus those who ARE afraid of them are unjustifiably so. Therefore bigotry. And their insane bigotry towards them. However, fear of something that IS an actual threat (venomous snakes, rabid dogs, terrorists etc) ISN'T irrational, therefore isn't a phobia. Thus the hatred of such. Ergo, the more than justified hatred of right-wing fundy Xtians.
And you wonder why we hate right-wing Xtian fundies like you? And our hatred isn't mindless & bigoted. It's because loonies like you try to affect other people's lives with the warped policies of Repubican politicians you influence (at least that influence has been lessened greatly with Obama's election!). And because, despite the first Commandment, you're loony - and bloodthirsty - enough to want & own guns. That, coupled with your insane belief in 'Revelations' & the 'Rapture'. You shouldn't be allowed to have water pistols!
I rest my case.
ROFL
NOTICE: YOU ARE STUPID

- In this you are mistaken. If you wish to destroy someone you first demonized them and diminish little by little the humanity that they share with you and the rest of the species. Hatred is one of the last staging posts on this particular path. When you have reached it, it is a simple enough matter to take the final step of actually annihilating the object/s of your hatred. It is the final justification that enables the screaming voice of conscience to be ignored on the false premiss that 'they deserve to die'.
- How little you know of modern history. How little you care that decent Americans were appalled when they entered the camps where people were being liquidated in tens of thousands every day. These were people who had done nothing wrong except being different. And for their difference they were singled out and scapegoated. And it was easy enough to play on the innate human tendency to do this, for this has been inculcated into us since long before civilization began. Its root is fear of otherness.
- If you really find hatred a neutral word on par with spinach or ketchup, then you are truly an inhuman, unfeeling monster who is a danger to decency and humanity at large. I would prefer the company of ghouls to your sort, for you are shameless in your advertising of your evil.
Nothing really fundie in this. Just a monster spewing forth his hatred.
Hating human beings is neutral now?, you won't have, then, any problem if we hate you, don't you?
You know another neutral word, Ass hole, it refers to part of human anatomy, so if I called you an ass hole it wouldn't be a bad thing.
Really it's just a thing that shit comes out of, you should see it as a positive thing.
OK, if you hate spinach, don't eat it. Fine, that's up to you.
But don't campaign for ketchup to be banned, or for the execution of spinach growers. No, that kind of hate wouldn't be neutral.
Spinach and ketchup don't care if you hate them. People, however, feel bad when being hated.
As far as I know, no-one holds rallies with signs saying "God hate spinach", "Thank God for spinach-eating slugs" or "Death to spinach".
You see, there's a significant difference between quietly not eating spinach, and restricting people's lives because they happened to be born gay.

And where does that hate some from, buddy boy? Seems to me, it's stoked by an irrational fear that we're some evil boogymen, lurking around to rape men and boys under the dark of night, and do otherwise vague bad bad things to you.
Uh, yeah, when are you gonna actually "soak yourself in octane"?
...and smoke a cigarette?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
