the body cannot do anyting on its own, the soul is the life principle - what animates it.

What is a soul? The mind? The Personality? The Life Force? Midichlorians? Some intangible substance? An indestructable combination of the previous answers?
If it's the personality of the person then how come body chemistry can alter the soul?
“the body cannot do anyting on its own, the soul is the life principle - what animates it.”
Then why is the soul so stupid?
I’ve been in plenty of liberty ports.
Sailors rush ashore, pound liquor, and do stupid things.
If there is no soul, this makes sense.
Pour pollutants into the bloodstream, the chemicals shift the brain’s operation, and guys call old girlfriends and cry ‘You were the one!’ and she asks, ’Aren’t you married? With kids?’
Or they call their wife at 0200 in the morning. Sober, I try REALLY HARD to not wake my wife up at 0200. Or after 10 PM.
And they drink tequila. I don’t know how many sailors swear they never touch tequila, but once they’re drunk, they start ordering shooters.
This is the behavior i have observed in drunken sailors. I’ve been on liberty, been Shore Patrol, been the Designated Driver, and they’re all stupid when they drink.
If there’s a soul that’s in control, why oh why does the soul allow drunk sailors to dive off the fairwater planes? Why does it suggest taunting alligators in Kings Bay, or teasing Mountain Lions in Bangor? How is it POSSIBLE for a soul to allow someone to go home with a woman that turns out to be coyote ugly in the morning?
Make this make sense if there’s a non-corporeal portion of our personality that’s going to persist after deathiness?
Confused?
