The phrase "LOL" really has lost all meaning.
When I watched 'The Sixth Sign' with a co-worker, like a hundred years ago, he couldn't get over the fact that Demi Moore would allow herself to die to save the human race. "She dies either way, that's stupid."
Is there really any point arguing with a 15-year-old about the ethics of stem-cell research?
I mean, "Throw them away, duh! lol" doesn't exactly conform to the Harvard rules of debate.
It does give me a chuckle, though.
See, what these fundies don't realize is that these "babies" have not sinned at all. Thus making them perfect "beings" and totally an innocent sacrifice for all our sins, like Jesus... Really they should be thanking doctors who perform abortions.

A Spanish woman who needed a replacement windpipe, had a new one surgically implanted. To completely eliminate the rejection process encountered with donor transplanted organs/tissue, she had one grown using Stem Cells. But with one big difference:
They were taken from her own bone marrow.
I think you fundies at least realise the implications of this new British surgical process. As with ongoing research into a vaccine to cure HIV/AIDS using genetic manipulation or other methods.
It'll take away another source of righteous indignation from you. As with 'AIDS is God's vengeance upon gays!' will be eliminated, as medical science beats God at his own game, so it'll be with Stem Cell reaearch. After all...:
If cells are taken from the person themselves, and not from aborted babies, who will you have to scream & shout at?
Another advancement of medical science: ruining fundies' fun. And you know what happens when you take the fun out of 'Fundies ' - what is left?
See...this is a reason why I want to be an organ donor. I don't know what's on the other side...an afterlife, oblivion, whatever. However, I *DO* know that my passing, should I donate, could mean a better life for someone else. I think the greater slap to the face would be getting buried with all the potential to help people. Same goes for these embryos which would be otherwise destroyed anyways. There isn't even the potential for life here anyways, so at least some good can come of it, yes? Or is the concept too grey for a black and white world like yours?
