"No matter what you think of the mythical separation between church and state, it is not possible for there ever, in the United States of America, to be a separation between God and government because God is the source of every single right which government has a sacred duty to protect"
We in the UK have a state religion: the Church of England. We - outside of Magna Carta and the European Convention on Human Rights - don't have a constitution. Whilst we Brits have freedom of worship (natch), by virtue of the fact we don't have a US-style constitution, means that, by definition, we have the freedom from worship too.
And there's not one fucking thing you can do about it.
"Now, I submit to you that not a single one of our unalienable rights will be safe in the hands of a president who believes that we evolved from slime and we are the descendants of apes and baboons."
And I submit to you two simple facts:
1- The very basis of 'we evolved from slime and we are the descendants of apes and baboons' is one of only five non-royalty people buried & memorialised in the central place of worship of the Church of England - which is the very basis of modern Protestant Christianity, no less - Westminster Abbey.
2- The head of the Church of England & Defender of the Faith, no less, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, is given potential new designs of coins & banknotes for her approval, opinions, ideas on improvements/changes etc, prior to such been produced & put into circulation. Especially as they have her image on them, natch, therefore she has ultimate power of veto over any potential design. Cop for what is on the reverse of our £10 note:

Yes, that's right, Bryan. The image of the very basis of 'we evolved from slime and we are the descendants of apes and baboons', no less.
Now, do you think that she would've approved of Charles Darwin apearing on our currency, if she thought that his paradigm-shifting, nay, world-changing discoveries threatened her own beliefs (as she herself is a devout Christian), as well as those of the very religion she represents?!
PROTIP: "On the Origin of Species" sold even more than the Bible when first published. The Church of England readily accept, nay, welcomed with open arms, Evolution. As they do with the Big Bang today. But then, even they openly admit that much of the Bible is purely fable and metaphor. As in it's not literal.
"Now, if you doubt me, look at the nation states in the 20th century which rejected the creator God of the Judeo-Christian tradition Nazi Germany, Stalinist Russia, Communist China. The one thing all of these secular states share in common is dead bodies."
Stalin allowed the Russian Orthodox Church. China to this day allows Christianity. As long as those religions didn't/don't oppose/interfere with state policy/law. It's the reason why - despite China's hatred of the Dalai Lama - Tibetan Buddhism is still allowed/tolerated in Tibet.
As for Hitler & his Third Reich, now what was one of the books banned, nay, burned by that regime, I wonder...? Oh yes, that's right. "On the Origin of Species" by Charles Darwin.
I'd say 'I love the smell of annihilated arguments in the morning. Smells like.... victory', but in your case I don't need to. Because as shown here...:

...infinitely worse things are happening to you & another of your arguments in the Chaos Dimension already.
Liberate tutame ex inferis, Bryan.
@Bollox
"So, Brian, you would be in favour of State control of the Church, yes?"
As long as it was absolute control of fundie religions by we Atheists, a definite case of stop it, you're turning me on.
