Enh, the problem is that when most people think 'abortion', they think first trimester tiny blob of undeveloped cells abortion.
When these people think 'abortion' they think of nearly full term babies being cut up like a chicken and pulled out with tongs.

And honestly, that does happen on rare occasions, and it IS horrible. A third trimester fetus might as well BE an infant. Surviving birth is a big step, but I don't think that's what makes a baby magically human.

So... until we know when an embryo develops consciousness, this is an argument that can't be won.

BUT... I will say - to the people who claim that abortion is bad because the embryo in question COULD HAVE grown up to be someone awesome... So could every sperm left in a condom, or every egg passed during menses.

What do you know about abortion that wasn't spoonfed to you by a preacher as stupid as he is evil?

If it's about people killing the unborn, look to nature. Up to 50% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, stillbirth or fetal death. Without abortion. What are you doing to reduce that?

A big whopping ZERO. It's never even occurred to you to do something about that, not when you have a chance to hate on women.

You must really be stupid enough to think that if abortion became illegal today, then abortion would disappear forever and that women will never be broke, or in a very bad relationship, or will never birth control fail, or won't be raped, or pregnancies will never go horribly wrong (try having a fetus rotting to death and being expelled in clumps from your body, while you slowly but surely start hemorrhaging to death--it was no fun for me).

Most of all, you think women will never take matters into their own hands and do crazy things to end a pregnancy. Things that almost always not only kill the unborn, but also often kill the woman, too. How are you saving lives, if legal abortion almost always results in -1 "life", while illegal abortion has a very high chance of being -2, one of them definitely a living being?

Nope, very likely, you do know this, and you don't care if women risk death. Should have kept her legs closed, eh?

You don't care that illegal abortion kills mothers and wives (most legal abortions are performed on married women who have children). You don't care that daughters, sisters, friends and cousins will die.

That's what illegal abortion looks like. Her name was Gerri Santoro. Her daughters had to grow up without a mother, a mother went to her grave never getting over her daughter's death--it was so senseless. Nobody cares about the potential life that died that day, and rightfully so. Look at that picture and understand why, if you have any rational thought or compassion left in your rotten excuse for a brain.

I doubt you can. Women like Gerri don't matter to you. They're expendable to you, in comparison to a clump of cells. Your attitude makes it clear that, if a building were on fire and you could save only one life form near you, you'd save a Petri dish of cells before you would a living, breathing woman. That potential life is sooooo much more valuable, so the slut can just die, right?

That's what anti-abortion ultimately means.

That's why you are a monster.

With the exception of rape, the woman can choose not to have sex. If she really is woried about having a child, DONT have sex, or use as many methods of birth control as possible. I have no sympathy for the scenario you describe. Believe it or not it is possible to have some restraint when it comes to sex...oh wait, i forgot, liberals are against having to have restraint...its too hard...

Just give up on trying to convince the pro-life people to give up the fight, and just keep fighting them, i assure you thats what they will do, with the abortion lovers, aka pro-choicers.

And YOU are the monster. That you would sacrifice a life, the life of a child who did no wrong, to protect a promiscuous probably irresponsible slut, shows YOU and all abortion lovers are the monsters. And believe me most Pro-lifers while not as extreme as i see the pro choice aka abortion lover camp as monsters.

I was joking, dumbshit. Now, I know it's difficult to comprehend that saying something on the internet doesn't mean seriously advocating it, but bare with me. (This sentence goes to John_in_Oz, too. I don't recall reading any of your posts, but Jesus Christ; I'd expect more from what I assume is a regular user. Then again, maybe not, given that Headache fellow, who apparently hates all Americans.).

Yknow, funny thing about liberals, or 'leftists' as Soothesayer calls us. We've been right on every social issue in history.

We were right on slavery.

We were right on civil rights for African Americans (remember, the term "Liberal Media" originated during the civil rights era, when the news media started saying blacks did deserve the same rights as whites. Damned LIBERAL MEDIA!)

We are currently right on gay marriage, which in 20 years maybe some of you morons will realize.

We are currently right on allowing a woman to choose whether or not she wants to have a child.
