The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad last week hosted a gay pride party for its employees and the nation's LGBT community, a community that's typically shrouded in shadows.

And, not surprisingly, conservatives there are furious: the powerful and influential Islamic party Jamaat-e-Islami released a statement calling the event "cultural terrorism."

"Such people [homosexuals] are the curse of society and social garbage," the group said. "They don't deserve to be Muslim or Pakistani, and the support and protection announced by the US administration for them is the worst social and cultural terrorism against Pakistan.”

Listen up Jammy,

The US Embassy is sovereign US territory. What it does on its own patch is no concern of yours.

LGBT people have to live shrouded in shadows in Muslim lands because of bigotry and hatred that people like you direct at them, so in saying this, you have only exposed the naked shame of your own hatefilled heart.

Jammy, it is people like you who are the curse of society and the real social garbage.

As for Pakistan, it can afford nuclear weapons, but it cannot afford to feed its people or correct the grinding poverty under which many have to live. What a hypocrisy!
And as for not deserving to be Muslims or Pakistani, frankly, I believe that many of these persecuted LGBT people would be only too happy to find a country that would allow them residence to escape from the shit-hole that you are so happy to wallow in.

If someone complained about an event in the Pakistani Embassy in Washington DC you would be the first in line to make bitter complaints that the right to Pakistani sovereignty had been breached.

And isn't it strange that you know what is going on behind the walls of the American Embassy, but nobody knew where Usama bin Laden was? Of course this mass murderer would be a saint in your warped mind, whilst LGBT people are unholy sinners. Some moral code that!

In theory it's a great idea, but I question it's venue in a country where violent reprisals are turned a blind if not outright condoned and could lead to atendees being singled out and targeted afterwards

Fundamentalist muslims are much like fundamentalist christians in that they consider everthing that does not tow their ideological line to be "cultural terrorism".

The same can be said of those who advocate violence and opression upon people who choose to live a live other than that you would force on them.

Terrorism? Terrorism? You DARE compare this to terrorism, you radical Islamist? So the happiness and freedom of a marginalized group of people is the equivalent of blowing up buildings and train stations, killing hundreds if not thousands of innocent people, according to you? Oh wait, you probably think that the victims of terrorist attacks deserved to die, you horrible person. Go die in a fire, please. Unlike other times when I have said that, I am actually serious here. Go light yourself on fire. The sooner all you terrorist-sympathizers are gone from the face of the Earth, the sooner we will have world peace. Holy Crap! That...photo...certainly drives the point home! What the heck did they do to his face?! So bloody, I can hardly make out features, did they cut off his nose or something?!

Quite frankly, there's two Islams...."Islam The Nice, Respectable World Religion" & "Islam The Bloody Psycho Cult of Conquest". Sadly, both have a valid basis in the Koran. The verses in most Korans have been mixed up in chronology, the chapters have been arranged from longest to shortest. The Koran was composed in Mecca & Medina. The nice, productive, charitable, fair, tolerant, loving, socially progressive, peaceful teachings were writen when Mohammed was in Mecca. After going to Medina, Mohammed lost his marbles & got on a power trip & wrote all the violent, hateful, sexist, bigoted, "ARRRGHLE! CONQUER THE EARTH FOR ISLAM! WARGARRBL!" parts (he technically didn't write it, he dictated to a guy who could, since he was illiterate).

Therefore I've dubbed the two Islams "Meccan Islam" & "Medinian Islam". The nice Muslims who respect others, the so-called Liberal/Moderate Muslims, the guys building the Community Center that's driving the ChristoFascists bonkers, all Sufis & so on, are "Meccans". Al Queda, Hamas, Hezebollah, the regiemes of many Muslim countries (Iran, Saudi Arabia, Afganistan, etc.), nuts who do "Honor Killings" & these Jamaat-e-Islami bozos, are "Medinian".
