[What phrase instantly makes you strongly dislike someone?]
"I identify as" or "My PGPs are" whatever. You're taking a real medically diagnoseable condition, and trivializing it with made up garbage and creating a stigma around it. There are two genders, and your extra bullshit makes it hard on transgender people who actually have gender dysphoria.

"I identify as..."
All identities are equally valid. People can believe they're literally anything, and as long as they believe it, that is their identity. You could say you identify as a clock on the wall or as a washing machine or as a fire hydrant, and those are true and valid identities as long as it's what you believe. Unless you can control people's thoughts, there is no way to logically argue otherwise, no matter how 'illogical' an identity is. This is why if I were transgender, I would say "I am a woman." There is more than enough psychological and neurological evidence that trangender people are overwhelmingly the gender that they say they are, so it's pretty safe to say they're not just identifying.
"My PGPs are"
...no. Having your own pronouns defeats the whole purpose. You can choose which one of the existing third-person pronouns you want to go by, including singular they or neutral zie /hir , but that's it .
Not really fundie.
Yes, people are obviously free to identify as a dragon/sky-scraper hybrid if they're so inclined and should certainly not be bullied over it - but to demand that this identity be treated on par with transgenderism, a well researched phenomenon, does in fact trivialise the experience of actual trans people.
There are two genders. Unless there are three. Or possibly five if taking intersexed genitals into consideration without the cultural baggage.
So... fuck off? With all due respect. You can imagine how much that is.
@shy
As long as we`re talking social context but I just think she`s grasping for a designation between somebody with their condition backed with harder physical fackups, so to speak and what the public at large portrays as transsexual folks. At least this is what I`m getting with the barest reading between the lines and applying my empathy.
@RenegadePromQueen
Very much so.
Being empathic doesn`t mean we should throw people with diffrent ailments and conditions inside the same bag just so nobody can potentialy complain. If your condition is backed by medicine it must be formally recognised, even if it means above some of the yet unconfirmed or potentially unconfirmable stuff(I won`t feel obliged to call you by your dragon name till we first see one existing in the first place) in the eyes of the simpler folk(like they care about the actual science of it in these cases anyway).
"My PGPs are"
Nope. We have a nice enough selection already, they`re not supposed to denote the exact of your personal fem:masc ratio, they are simple approximations and treat them as such. Want a language in which every pronoun spills the very heart of your personal story? Make one up and then make us like it enough so we`ll start switching to it from what we all consider as some basic standard. I`m sorry but when it comes to communicating we have to be a bit of a collective, yopu see...
" There are two genders, and your extra bullshit makes it hard on transgender people "
If there are only 2 genders, how can there be transgenders?
There are two genders
No shit, Sherlock, and sometimes people want to change from the one they were born with to the one they truly feel they are. I don't see what's so hard about allowing people to be who they want to be, as outlined in the Declaration of Independence.
When she was talking about PGPs, I wasn't thinking of "nounselves", I was thinking of "they/them" or even people who accept multiple pronouns like "she/him/they" (as in "I'm not picky about how you refer to me because I feel like all of them and none of them")
"I identify as nonbinary" as well.
There are more than two genders. Gender is a social construct, a spectrum. It's literally made up. Hell,there are more than two SEXES, if you include various combos of X, Y, and O.
Confused?
