So, you had a terrible experience, and as such you were confused about your sexuality. Then you found a woman that you loved and that loved you. End of story. I am truly happy for you, but what the hell does any of that have to do with demons?
Also curious: Why is it the only people that seem to get attacked by demons are the fundies that believe in them?

I don't agree with the assertion that the gay tendencies mean he actually is gay. Somebody who is abused by being beaten might have a tendency to seek out partners that are abusive or become abusive. This doesn't mean they are innate masochists or sadists.
However aside from the trauma of sexual abuse, Texastig has to come to terms with it in the framework of his Christian learnings which is extra hard.
like you said, traumatic experiences in your childhood caused you to experience some sexual uncertainty. You worked through it and I'd imagine you actually are straight. That is you always have been and were merely confused when you were younger. Your anicdote is rather irrelevant to homosexuality as it pertains to most people who have no discernable 'reason' for being gay instead of straight. Also demons don't exist.

I think she/he/it is lying... trying to tie molestation to homosexuality (i.e. being molested made him gay.) and then to exeorscism/reparitive therapy, It all sounds too contrived and convinent, I vote lying for jesus.

I have to say that for once, despite the fact that I think he's a crazy fundie retard, I was appauled by the responses on FSTDT, particularly onoma. Now, in some cases, fundies are batshit crazy and twisted beyond reason, but in this case the guy's just brainwashed, and taken into consideration alongside the abuse he's received as a child, I think certain responses here were completely uncalled for, and make us look like a bunch of douchebags.
This guy deserves the mockery he gets for stating that demons cause homosexuality but making fun of the fact that he was molested is completely out of line.

I don’t think this guy was <i>ever</i> gay. He flirted with the idea of homosexuality, while suffering a welter of confused emotions stemming from a childhood trauma, and ultimately discovered he was het. His fundie leanings led him to believe demons were causing his emotional distress.

Study after study have demonstrated that gay people were not necesarily abused and that, if there was abused, their sexuality had nothing to do with homosexuality to begin with. In fact, notorious homosexuals remained celibate the rest of their lives. If it were a choice, people wouldn't choose to remain "celibate", for example. Adultery, for example IS a choice. There is not such a thing as a "celibate" adulterer.
