Well, that may be how you view things. Generally, I find that GOPers tend to think that members of their own party deserve respect and power, regardless of their sexual infidelities, crimes, or abuses of power; and Democrats, on the other hand, are totally unworthy of any respect even if they are worthy, honest, and honorable people. So I can see why your reasoning here is so twisted.

You misspelled solely. Also, if you have sex with your wife/girlfriend using oral or anal sex, or masturbate then that could be counted as "abusing" your sexual equipment, it's not though. As no, I respect homosexuals because they are people.

People deserve respect, period. But it does matter if they are dishonest or criminal, of course.
Their sexual orientation does not enter into the matter at all, as long as they stick to consenting adults.

Actually, it's because gays have been persecuted for far too long, and it's time they had human rights along with everyone else.

Ultra-religious bigots who want to deny equal rights to others and have a long history of doing so deserve our respect simply because they're religious, and therefore "holy" people.

It matters not whether they want a second holocaust, World War Three, world domination, or preach pro-life while practicing pro-death, as long as they're religious, they're holy people called to totalitarian rule of our country.
