“He needs to go back and read the Constitution, and other historical documents that this country was based on.”
He’s a Constitution Scholar.
He’s read the documents this country is based on. None of those are the Bible.
Just consider how many of the 10 Commandments are unconstitutional.
1. I am the LORD your God; you shall not have strange gods before me
Kind of diametrically opposed to the First Amendment and religious freedom, what?
2. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain
Kind of diametrically opposed to the First Amendment and free speech, what?
3. Remember to keep holy the LORD's Day (Sabbath)
Kind of diametrically opposed to the First Amendment and religious freedom, what?
4. Honor your father and mother
This would prohibit any complaints to Child Services except from the parents.
6. You shall not commit adultery
Not illegal in this country, although it is grounds in divorce court.
7. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor
Kind of diametrically opposed to the First Amendment and free speech, what?
Papers would be a LOT smaller if this were enforced.
8. You shall not covet your neighbor's goods (or property)
Madison Avenue could hardly advertise anything if they weren’t making you jealous about the neighbor’s car, or oven, or floors…
