"Why does Obama lie about his faith?"
When?
"Does Barack Obama oppose Harry Potter like most Christian parents?"
How do you know "most Christian parents" oppose Harry Potter? My sister-in-law is an incredibly strict Catholic and even SHE enjoyed the books. It's a fairy tale (like the Bible), get over it!
No, only nutty Christian parents who for some reason can't differentiate fiction from reality have a problem with Potter.
BTW, how do you know what Obama reads to his children?
@Sandman: Especially since J.K. Rowling IS Christian herself.
So what if Obama's girls like Harry Potter? So do many other kids. I'm a big Harry Potter fan and I'm Christian. But you're a fundie, so of course, you have to make mountains out of molehills again.
Barack Obama reads a book about witchcraft to his children BUT NOT THE BIBLE..
By that sentence you are saying that your bible is about witchcraft. We are still talking about books containing witchcraft, and then you say as a add-on; But not the bible, as if your bible is about witchcraft.
And for once, you are correct. Your bible is about witchcraft, from the magic sky daddy.
I may be spoiling the HP series for those who haven't read it, but both Harry Potter and the Bible are good fictitious works where you've got a kid who was raised in very modest terms, grows up to be a leader, inciting a rebellion against a power-hungry political force, and dies for said rebellion, only to be resurrected before finishing off the political force.
And that's not even getting to the setting in King's Cross....
Who's "most christian parents"? There are many, many liberal and moderate christian parents who have no problem with literacy, oops, I mean, their kids reading Harry Potter. And how in the hell do you know he doesn't read the bible? Do you have spy cams on him 24/7? Otherwise, you would not be qualified to say that you KNOW he doesn't read the bible, even though he says he does. Hell, I read the bible. I don't believe a word in it, but it makes for some good entertainment, what with all the blood, gore, rape, genocide, pilaging, etc. TV has nothing on the bible. Except that the bible reads like a hard shit.
My ex-wife is catholic. She loves the Harry Potter books, and the "His Dark Materials" series, too. She used to love Anne Rice (including the Anne Rampling softcore porn) before ol' Anne got religion.
Go figure.
Most christian parents? Worldwide?
Nah, more like 1%, and thas probably generous.

Citation needed. Until then, shut the fuck up!
like most Christian parents?
A not to the avid reader: "Christian" in this context are all the other people who agree with this persons interpretations of christianity and hence only consist of a handful of people.
"Why does Obama lie about his faith?"
Starts by taking an accusation as proof. Not a good thing.

H.P. is about witchcraft? Bulldust - it's a coming-of-age series. Among many, many other things.
THE BIBLE OR HARRY POTTER. It's one. Or the other. NOT BOTH.
On that subject, I hear Obama hasn't been to church since coming into office, hooray!
HP teaches morality way better than the Bible does. That is, of course what fundies hate about it. They can't stand being upstaged, and their faith is so fragile that even a children's book can shatter it.
Most Christian Parents don't oppose Harry Potter. It might come to a shock to you but you Evangelical fundamentals are the minority as far as Christians go.
Most Christian Parents know that magic is not real, and that the series is Fiction.
Oh and did he ever say he never read the bible to his children?
Confused?
