I still stand on behalf of the baby, no matter what. And if you really want to theorize, think about this. I try to look for the good in all people and all things. Perhaps the child concieved in the rape is actually a test of the woman's true faith. Raising the child could actually make the woman a better person, don't you think?

In that case, go raise those kids yourself. Or better, be consequent and support any injustice they do to you. And let the rapist be raped in jail. You know, he´s the one who needs to be a better person, not the woman you don´t even know.
Maybe god wants the woman to learn a lesson by having an abortion. After all, if you have an all powerful god who uses a rapist to make someone a better person than isn't a bit silly that his wisdom and power can be thwarted by Human Science? The same Human Science which, as an all powerful being, he should have the ability to stop simply by getting rid of the technique before it was created or by making the baby immune to any abortion attempts? Seems to me (according to your logic) that abortions are part of his divine plans and you have no business questioning them.
Next time if you're going to grasp at straws to support your pre-existing beliefs at least make an attempt to think it through.
Sombody please shoot him,
I'm asking nicely
Can do! Where does he live?
Or maybe gawd want the woman to have an abortion. Seriuosly, if gawd can get a woman raped as part of his secret masterplan, why can't the woman getting an abortion be part of the plan to?
Or maybe Mr Fuckwit should just fuck off with his "God has a plan"-gibberish. Seriously, what bugs me about this guy is not his insisting, that the fetus is innocent and shouldn't be punished for it's fathers crime, bur rather that he insist on talking of rape as either someting the woman deserved (because she was a scantily clad slut who should have stayed home) or as a grand gift from gawd which in the end will make her life so much better, if she will just stop being so stubborn about everything.
Yes, or maybe, there's no God, no plan, and the woman was just raped by a total scumbag acting of his own, awful volition. Don't you think?
Or if she's 16 and in high school, preparing to go to a good college, etc. then no, it's not for the best. Most women's lives would be ruined in that circumstance. Not to mention that the fact she was raped is devastating enough to a person.
Fuck you.
This whole "suck it up, it's God's plan" attitude makes me sick. Rape is not some blessing in disguise, rape fucks lives up. If someone decides to keep a child who is a product of rape, that's up to them. But I think most women would probably wouldn't want to go through that kind of misery, and they shouldn't have to. And they shouldn't be demonized or abused for deciding not to let their lives get fucked up because of what some jerkoff did to them.
And if you think a god who would do something like this is a god that's worth following, there's something wrong with you.
And as we all know, severe emotional and physical trauma always make you into a better person. I wonder if Uberbeliever applies that to himself.
Here's a suggestion: Uber, why not allow yourself to be raped and then share with us how the experience has made you into a better person? Hmmm? What do you think?
This whole abortion thing can be avoided with the administration of emergency birth control to every rape victim.
From what I understand, emergency birth control differs from the abortion pill in that it prevents impregnation. No impregnation, no pregnancy, no fetus, no argument.
Fundies probably have a problem with that too, though.
Why stop at that, Uberbeliever? Wouldn't it be best for all concerned if the woman name the baby after her rapist?
You say you "look for the good in all people"? No, you don't: actually, you're almost inhumanly cruel .

Yes, better access to contraception and emergency contraception would be a HUGE help in lowering the amount of unwanted pregnancies. HOWEVER...
Birth Control pills and Emergency Contraception induce menstruation. Remember that the fundies believe "life begins at conception". Theoretically, a fertilized egg could be flushed out by menstruation, which actually happens naturally, as well.
Also: Medically, pregnancy begins with implantation of an egg in the uterine lining. Not the moment of conception.
The problem here is the same as in the beaten women cases. They focus all the stuff, for whatever reason, on the victim, not the criminal. All the ultrareligious assholes I know say, pray for that woman to forgive the husband, or the man who did that(in the case of the rapist). Sorry, as far as I am concerned, it´s the rapist or the beater who have to ask God´s forgiveness, since they have done the wrong, not the women. If they´re "breaking families" or so, it´s something that the beaters or rapists, not the victims, should think about. Besides, if it´s a test of God, the whole notion of free will disappears. If the rapist is a puppet of God, then the whole idea of sin and redemption has no meaning whatsoever.
Uhhh... what? Punish the victim and the child with mental and emotional torture (for the mother because she will spend the rest of her life being reminded of the man who raped her, and for the child because eventually it will have to be told it is a rape child)while the rapist gets off scot-free?
Your g0d is an asswipe and you need to see a shrink, stat!
I agree. As an atheist life is more valuable to me than Christians. Therefore it doesn't matter how it happened.
What matters is the fetus is alive and deserves a chance to be someone great. Males of many species in the animal kingdom rape females, and that's just how it is. Like ducks, no joke, I rescued a duck once from a vicious gang duck fight and the vet told me it was actually a gang rape and it happens often.
As humans we know it's wrong, but there is still a new life involved and the victim should keep that in mind. Maybe we can avoid abortion if, as a society, we issue a social security number when the fetus is first discovered. hmmm....
“Perhaps the child concieved in the rape is actually a test of the woman's true faith.”
This is your god of the Job chapter.
A whimsical, untrustworthy, bastard asshole of a god that USES suffering to reach his goals.
WHY would anyone worship a fuckhead like that?
Confused?
