Oh trust me I still say what I believe whether others like it or not. :) I cruise around with my "Romney/Ryan" bumper sticker and "Proud to be a Pro-life American" bumper sticker and don't care what others think. It makes me sad that CHRISTIANS think food stamps are great. NOT AT ALL WHAT GOD INTENDED!!! You don't work, you don't eat!!!

There are people who work full time and still can't put a meal on the table every night. Last I checked a Private in your country's much fetishized military qualifies for food stamps and need them to survive. It's baffling and entirely appalling to me that the promise of a way out of poverty is a major recruitment tool but actually making use of those benefits causes such automatic unthinking vilification in pissants like you.

2 Thessalonians 3: “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”

Matthew 25:35 “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.”

The commandment to work for your food applies to those who are able bodied and refuse to work. It should not be used to excuse the abuse of those who are disabled, chronically ill, mentally ill, pregnant, unable to find employment, or those who work and still don’t earn enough to support themselves and/or their families. Also, keep in mind that Thessalonians was (supposedly) written by Paul whereas the gospel of Matthew is scripturally taken to be a second-hand retelling of the actual words of Jesus. Between the two, if I were Christian, I’d listen to Big J. Meaning that I’d say food stamps and other forms of financial assistance are exactly what God intended. The US alone has more than 300 million people living here, we can’t rely entirely on private charity to support those who struggle.

I just love Christians who’ve never once read their Bible! Especially the New Testament that they always claim is the whole truth, and … you can kind of ignore the Old Testament, except for the verses they still like.
