You got it in one. They think a hastily tacked on left-field deflection is a viable defense even if unsupported by the context of their posts or the deflection itself. I honestly don’t know if the complete lack of logic in their choices of deflections i.e. random people somehow being inserted into a movie that’s already been released to get shot or spreading coronavirus in Minecraft is just blindly reaching for something topical or if they actually think they’re being clever and putting effort into making it deliberately nonsensical because they really are convinced everybody in the world is just too dumb to figure it out and it would still hold up legally. A choice between lazy stupid with a short attention span or a confusing paradox of stupidity with thought and effort put into crafting something that simply could not make any less sense and contains less intelligence overall than was expended to create it.

The only reason you aren't also a "normie" is that you're a stupid asshole.
