When SCOTUS breaks our constitutional law by making law which they are not authorised to do by the constitution, then yes they too must be held accountable. They are not above the law. They in particular are most guilty and via amendment 10 need to be recalled and charged as felons and serve a life term without remission.

1) Judges do, can and always have made law. By interpreting existing law, they make new law. The idea that they don't is a polite fiction. The fact is that the majority of law is precedent, case law. This is exactly how our system of laws is meant to work.
2) There is nothing in the constitution that says "the SCOTUS cannot make judgements about X or Y". That's what they did and what the constitution intended them to do.
3) You are, in essence, simply bitching about judges making a decision you dislike. In which case: buck up and take a number. I'm still pissed about Citizen's United .
> So take them to court.
More specifically, the Supreme Court justices can be impeached by Congress. It's never happened, but it can.
I'm surprised I haven't heard any of our Congressmen planning to do that.
There is a mechanism in the Constitution for holding judges accountable. Now all you need is to persuade a majority of the House (which is full of lawyers) and 67 senators (many of whom will have confirmed the justices in office) of your case. Even then, there is no punishment associated with impeachment beyond being barred from office. Any criminal sentence would be the subject of separate proceedings. Have fun.

Incorrect. It has happened once, in 1804. The justice in question wasn't found guilty, though.
So which constitutional law did they break, exactly? So which law did they make, exactly? Specifics, please.

Good luck with that. Finding a judge , that is.
So the SCOTUS broke Constitutional law by interpreting the Constitutionality of a law as authorized by the Constitution?
I can appreciate conservatives being upset over the gay marriage decision, but I'll never tolerate this dumbass idea that the SCOTUS somehow overstepped their authority and created a new law on their own, and somehow the rest of the government is OK with it. It's OK if you're angry and upset, just don't be a dumbass by not understanding how our government works and pretending the SCOTUS did something illegal.

I doubt they would do that in an election year. But you never know. Of course, they'd actually have to find something to charge them with other than "making decisions we don't like."
Actually, it was Newt Gingrich who came up with the idea of arresting judges and bringing them before Congress if they make an unpopular (with Republicans, naturally) decision.
Confused?
