Hitler pulled Germany out of a severe depression. There's no denying that he managed to do some good. But it is far outweighed by his immediate decision to strip large chunks of the German population of their rights and taking everyone who remained on a bullet train to Hell in a genocidal campaign of invasion and conquest that blew up in his face.
As for President Obama...
Social Welfare programs have not been expanded significantly despite your mad ravings and have never been a significant drain on America's economy. The biggest black hole for tax dollars is and always has been the military industrial complex. The majority of the US debt is war and that debt has actually shrunk a bit since he took office.
I shudder to imagine what constitutes backbone to you. Either genocidal rampages, maverick cowboy dictatorships, or simple obstinence. If Obama were doing any of these things you'd be complaining louder. He's folded a little too easily on trying to push through healthcare and equal rights but I'm sure you're actually quite happy about that.
People were trying to impeach him before he even took office for no reason at all. That statement is pointless.
His own cabinet has been obstructing literally everything he's been trying to do from day 1. As he's not the dictator you think he is he has to put up with that shit. He's compromised away nearly every promise he's made and I'm upset about it, but I happen to realize just how much is working against him.
I'm actually a little confused at that nomination myself. So far as President of the United States of America he hasn't started yet another war and is far more willing to enter dialogues than his predecessor but as far as peacemaking goes that's about it.
Not the Second Coming or last best hope, but he might as well be when compared to your precious Fuhrer and a major improvement over the last administration.
