Where did God order genocide? Name one spot where God told Israel to kill people due to their race. Instead, He ordered them to kill people, entire nations, for quite a few good reasons

Uh, the Amalikites?<cough><cough>
okay, okay, they were an ethnic group, not a "race" per se,just like the Jews were really an ethnic group not a "race" as the Germans claimed.
Somehow, I don't think either group really ever cared about the semantics when they were having their babies sliced from their wombs and dashed against the rocks.Though I would have to admit the Isrealites were more thorough in their turn,(According to the howhl-lee babble anyways)
I'm sure Hitler, Hutu leaders, Pol Pot, et al all thought they had "a few good reasons" too. What's your point? "A few good reasons" doesn't excuse killing entire nations.
I wonder how many times in history god(s) have given good reasons to wage war against others. What are the good reasons your god gives? Also, I'm not sure if there is an actual difference between "ethnic group" and "race"; I've always understood them to by synonomous. Is there a difference I'm not aware of? (don't mean to sound critical, just geniuinely curious)

Uhmmm... Just where did this happen? I remember a place about children being bashed against the rocks, but that was just a "warning" against the babylonians saying that whoever did it was doing a good deed.

It's not meant to be specific, just an observation over how bloody both groups could be.
AFAIK, the OT stated that slicing open the pregnant women of your enemies and bashing the baby's head against the rocks was a fine way of showing loyalty to Gawd.As well as bashing your own child's head against the rocks so they didn't grow up to be "heathens" when they enemy overran you.
This sounds more like an admonishment for "good isrealite women" to carry out their men's wishes. After all, they knew best....
That´s genocide, and what good reasons?, and what was Moses SO MEAN to make an exception on virgins JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE GOOD FOR THEIR OWN PLEASURE?. Yes, there has been genocide, and only for their race.
Well that is true. Genocide was not ordered specifically because of race, but rather on the basis of religious beliefs.
The fact that such religious beliefs fell neatly along racial and ethnic lines is all just a big coincidence, right? Right.......?
Much as I would like to point out to this idiot the definition of genocide , I think his last sentence speaks for itself:
"Instead, He ordered them to kill people, entire nations, for quite a few good reasons"
Edit: And others were way ahead of me here, too.
American Heritage Dictionary: genocide n. The systematic and planned extermination of an entire national, racial, political or ethnic group. God ordered the Israelites to commit wholesale slaughters, or he committed them himself. In brief, the OT god was a homicidal maniac.
He ordered them to kill people, entire nations, for quite a few good reasons
It's very rare, if not impossible, that "good reasons" would apply to each and every person in the nation. If you kill someone not for what they, themselves, did, but rather for living in a particular country or belonging to a particular religion you don't like, then that's genocide.
As I recall god had different rules for people outside of 'his people'. The name gentile was used to describe them, and there were laws that affected people differently based upon this. You could even sell sick, injured animals and roadkill to folks outside your own little world. So god's 'good reasons' amount to being born in the wrong skin, the wrong part of the world, the wrong time in history, the wrong parents, the wrong religion and burying their shit the wrong way. Wow, great reasons.
"Where did God order genocide?"
Let's just see here... "He ordered them to kill people, entire nations [...]"
Yup. That would be where.
> He ordered them to kill people, entire nations, for quite a few good reasons
Not one good reason is mentioned in the Bible.
Of course, that is because murder is murder, and there is never a good reason for murder.
Confused?
