God can void his own morals because he's God, even if it seems hypocritcal it's not because he's God and God can do whatever he wants cause he's God. Where's the confusion?

God is real because I believe god is real so god is obviouly real and since he's god, he can do anything he wants because god wrote the bible which says that god is real, and since i believe in the bible, that means that god exists because he says he does. duh!!!
Wow.
So Bush can void his own morals because he's the President; even if it seems hypocritical, it's not, because he's the President, and the President can do whatever he wants, because he's the President.
Makes about as much sense.
@agentCDE: I think that this IS a poe. I went back and re-read it a few times, and it comes off as being kind of sarcastic.
Any way we can have this pulled, mods? I'm pretty sure that SecularConservative really didn't mean this seriously.
That you're invalidating various theological facts:
a)that we're not made to his image
b)that the original sin is, therefore, impossible to assimilate(if God is not bound to morals, what was Adam and Eve's sin)
c)That those rules are not valid if the promoter doesn't validate them himself.
Julian for the win!
And even if this post was poe, I've run across too many people who seriously believe this. Fundies are among the most adept at brainwashing themselves, irregardless of their individual intelligence in other areas. Religion might be a set of beliefs, but when you have to throw logic out the window for it, that's what makes a fundie.
@Salvadore
It may be a poe, but it is still reflected by a great many followers, that is, God is Good, so no matter how horrific his actions, they are justified because he's good.
"Where's the confusion?"
In your head.
TheAmazingAtheist on YouTube likes to use this idea as the basis of an argument that god could be homosexual, because it's not a sin if god does it! The end result, of course, is to shock the user of the original argument (most likely a Leviticus-toting fundie) with its implications.
That's a neat trick.
Here's a thing: we liberals, we like the rule of law. If God doesn't want to live by the same laws he sets down, he can go fuck himself sideways, because he isn't going to get any respect from me.
But then again, he doesn't get much to begin with, what with the "not being able to exist the way he's described" sort of thing.
something that fundies claim is that god doesn't change his mind. What was, is, and ever shall be. That which was written 2000 or so years ago are still true. Fundies say.
So if god "voids" his own morals he has changes

God can go into God Mode, how poetic.
None the less, I call poe.
This is my biggest problem with religion. Who judges god? Are we expected to believe that the guy who sends evil to tempt us, and if tempted burns us from the rest of time, is a good person?
Well if GOD says it, it must be true
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
