*sigh* Wow, apparently, if a woman can't vote, she's being oppressed. If she stays at home, she's being abused and hindered. Can't get a job: rejected and proclaimed inferior. Geez, no wonder feminists are so miserable with such a bastardized view of the world around them!

It depends. If a woman is not a citizen of where she lives, of course she cannot vote. No oppression there.
If she stays at home, so long as it's her choice, no oppression. Some women chose to manage their lives in a way which allows them sufficient time at home and enough time to earn as they chose, which is beneficial to the family as a whole.
There are many men who can't get jobs. Some are not interested in work, but some are genuinely unemployed. So long as people's options to improve their chances are not being closed off, no one is being oppressed.
It depends on who says a woman is inferior. If it's her kids then they need grounding. If it's her husband then she is being oppressed. If it's herself, then she is self-oppressing.
But how do you see any of these scenarios as being 'feminist' in origin? Men fit into those situations too, so the argument seems to be pointing in the direction of men being the oppressors in some case - probably the majority, but likely not quite all.
Yes, and they shouldn't be allowed to sit at the front of the bus neither!
(Actually, I had no idea so many fundamentalist christians were feminists. After all, they're always complaining of being oppressed!)
And apparently, if a man is suffering those three things, he is being oppresed, for the mere fact of being a man. That's what we call double standards and fundies are unable to explain with logic.
(1)Not allowed to vote or any say in the political process
(2)Expected to keep to the house
(3)Not allowed to work outside the home
(4)Believed to be inferior.
Nope, no oppression there. So you won't mind if we treat YOU like that, do you? Since it's not oppression, after all.
*sigh* Wow, apparently, if a fundie can't bring their religion into science classrooms, they are being oppressed. If a fundie can't make this a Christian nation, fundies are being abused and hindered. Can't force their beliefs on others: rejected and proclaimed inferior. Geez, no wonder fundies are so miserable with such a bastardized view of the world around them!
Wow, apparently if a black man can't vote, he's being oppressed. If he is a slave, he's being abused and hindered. White employers won't hire him: rejected and proclaimed inferior. Geez, no wonder blacks are so miserable with such a bastardized view of the world!
If a man wasn't allowed to vote or get a job and had to stay home to do the shit work, I bet you'd say he was being oppressed, abused, hindered, rejected and proclaimed inferior.
And, if he belonged to your particular brand of christianity, you'd also say he was being persecuted for his faith.
If a human being is treated as the way you described is treated like shit and feels miserable. If they fight for their rights, they're miserable too. Thanks to people like you, they're miserable, that's the verdict.
Translation: "Women don't want to stay at home, be uneducated, be denied expressing their opionion, clean up after my shit, wipe/kiss my ass, and accept beatings on a regular basis because I am made in the image of God because help! us menz are being oppressed! (It's so depressing!)"
"Wow, apparently, if a woman can't vote, she's being oppressed."
Um ... well ... yes.
No votes, unbale to come and go as they please, unemployed--I wonder why they wouldn't like that?
All these conditions, you wouldn't put up with for yourself.
1. Yes. If men can vote, so can women, you sexist ass.
2. Only if she's being forced or coerced into staying at home. There's nothing wrong with a woman being a housewife/homemaker if it's by her own choosing.
3. If she can't get a job simply because she's a woman, then yes she is being proclaimed inferior. But many people don't get every job they apply for, simply because the employer felt someone was more suited.

If you see feminists as being miserable, maybe they're only miserable when they are around you.
I concur. I'd certainly feel miserable being in the general vecinity of this person.
If she wants to vote and isn't allowed to she is oppressed. If she is forced to stay at home, she is being abused and hindered. If she can't get a job because the boss is a sexist pig, she is being discriminated against.
No wonder you Fundies are so miserable at others happiness and success, as you never get your head outta your asses long enough to get a firm grasp on the obvious.
Is rebelEnigma a Poe?
Hard to say, but I say no. Outside of this specific thread, rebelEnigma has made numerous posts that indicate her (yes, her) fundyness. Maybe THIS specific post wasn't meant to be taken seriously, but overall... rE is a real fundie.
I looked at the thread this came from "FEMALE male chauvanists and I think that if a woman thinks she is better than a man justbecause she is a woman, that is at least as bad as being a male chauvanist. Perhaps worse, because women have centuries of knowledge of repression behind them.
I do think that stupid people, like religious fundamentalists, shouldn't vote, however.
*And I'm a woman myself, for those of you who were wondering.
The comment is inane, but I looked at the rest of the thread, and there are some really intelligent people posting on the Christian Forums. I'm not being sarcastic; I thouroughly enjoyed reading the smack-down of the wannabe princess. The replies to the "women aren't oppressed if they can't vote"-comment were great as well.
You're not being oppressed when you are in fact being oppressed?
Ah, fundieland. Where words have a completely different meaning to the real world.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
