You and I, as Good White People, hire the person who is best for the job. You and I would never hire a guy just because he's white, especially not if he's incompetent. But then as soon as an Indian gets into a position to make hiring decisions, being an ethnic nepotist, he does not hire whoever is "best for the job." He thinks "I want to hire my own people."

So, those of you, @albatross11, @DavidFriedman, who are concerned about abstract principles, and are opposed to limiting Indian immigration because doing so violates your abstract principles against ethnic discrimination...well, you're advocating to bring in lots of people who do not now and never will share your abstract principles. Very few people in the world share these principles. The vast majority of the world engages in group-based morality. It would be possible to get a pretty good approximation of your abstract ideals with a white population, but you're never going to get that by constantly increasing the number of ethnic nepotists in positions of power in the country.
