Such a condition could be treated by the person waiting until the child is an adult, in the mean time suppressing their urges under supervision by a phsychotherapist and perhaps being allowed to conduct a friendship with the child, thus forming an emotional bond with him/her which might be the foundation for a future physical relationship when the child is old enough. I wonder if a similar kind of process could be found for enabling homosexuals to reach a point where, having suppressed their urges for some time, they could reach the point where they could live with their attraction to the same sex, and form a strong emotional and physical relationship with someone of the opposite sex
