I am proud of being gay, but I will say that for the longest time, if I could, I would have happily become straight if I could. A small part of me still would consider it, just because it would be easier. NOT because I dislike who I am.

It is LIBERATING. I lied to others before I came out. I lied to myself. I fought everything about it. And what I got out of it? Depression and suicidal urges. Once I came out, I didn't have to lie or hide. I was *ME.* For the first time in my life, I was honest about who I was, and I will die before I give that up.
