Hey Anon-e-moose, you mentioned something a couple months back about kiwis and farms...trying to get something started over there but no one's responding. You know someone there? Lady C would make an excellent subject.
There are well over 3000 comments on that show, mostly negative, it would appear. I'm amazed! I didn't know there were that many people whose TV doesn't have an "off" button. I can only assume most of them are institutionalized and cannot be trusted with the remote.
It only took me a few minutes to find the defining comment, sans punctuation and capitalization:

Unless Sarah FAILin is prepared to openly state on Faux News that we Atheists are right: as we always have been, and that her - and your - 'God' doesn't exist, so ?
OFCOM is the reason why a Faux News UK doesn't exist. And why? Because if there was, and she were to appear on such in this country, then the broadcast laws here would legally force her to simultaneously say that her 'God' existed: and didn't . No 'Opinion': and no Bias allowed.

That's probably why Rupert Murdoch will accept the bid by Comcast for Sky News. He's already had Disney take over 21st Century Fox: including Sky TV. He's no longer the heavy-hitter in world media he once was; all he has left is "The Sun": and that subsidises "The Times". The former is his nearest thing to the "Daily FAIL": a right-wing rag.
And when the pseudo-Daily FAIL, the "Daily Excess" has been bought out by the "Daily Mirror" a left -wing, Labour-supporting newspaper, then what's left for rightists such as you, Checkmated Lady: and didn't you once state that Faux News was liberal ...?!

That's actually just a form of values dissonance and changing linguistic norms. I recall on MASH Colonel Potter was talking about his wife and said "I wish mother was here, she loves to cry." And I know in old movies from further back, and TV shows too, fathers called their wives Mother, and occasionally the wives called their husbands Father. It was just a common turn of phrase, that hasn't really died. My own parents do occasionally call each other by variations of that, usually to add extra soft intimacy, though usually less formally. This may be a case where slightly overdone mockery is falling into the TJ Dettweiler trap. It's only dirty if you have a dirty mind. And don't have historical context. And yes, fellow leftists, we can be wrong, jokes can be dumb, and history of linguistics and pop culture exist.

The cartoons not funny but it does point out a reality. We can attack Christianity with a reasonable expectations they won't violently object. And that's a good thing because Western Culture fought hard for that freedom and Christian Denominations, especially in America need to be reminded THEIR NEVER GOING TO RULE AGAIN.
And since the threat of a takeover is only from some Christian denominations we need to lay down some limit to their shit.
