When was the following written?
“Our declining society is an outward expression of an inward rejection of the Creator. And our freedoms are being eroded as Christianity is being slowly eliminated. Christians may wake up one day to find Christianity outlawed.”
That certainly sounds like a description of America today, doesn’t it? But it was published 26 years ago—in 1988. The paragraph comes from page 97 of a book *(now out of print and replaced by the book 'The Lie') I co-authored as a companion to The Genesis Solution film in 1987, featuring a live presentation I gave that the Lord has used to build the Answers in Genesis ministry: we call it the “relevance of Genesis message.”
Now back in the 1980s, I had been making the statement that “Christians may wake up one day to find Christianity outlawed.” It was a major part of the talks I was giving in churches in both Australia and the USA. Frankly, many Christians laughed at me for even suggesting that such a change could happen. I remember some Americans back then saying something like, “No, not in America—it could never happen here!”
But look at where America is today—and where it is heading!

So, Ken Ham made a guess, sorry, prediction, 26 years ago that didn´t come to pass. But every minute now, right Ken?

Yes, your persecution delusions are the same no as they were 26 years ago. And they'll be the same 26 years from now.
."But look at where America is todayand where it is heading"
It's true! Teabagger imitation christianity may outlaw True Christianity.
look at where America is todayand where it is heading!
Yes, look at it: Christianity still not outlawed; absolutely no indication it ever will be and an overwhelming majority of the populace describe themselves as Christian.
I'm starting to think we should persecute you lot, just to shut you up.
In the USA atheists face more abuse, hatred and persecution from Christians than vice versa, an atheist as President wouldn't be trusted by the Christian masses, if polls are to be believed, so I'm afraid that this is complete nonsense.
Sure, we're looking. America today is still overwhelmingly Christian, where adulterers are trusted more than atheists, and where almost only Christians have higher positions.
In short; you were laughably wrong then, and you're just as wrong now.
That certainly sounds like a description of America today, doesn’t it?
No, it doesn't. Christianity is no closer to being outlawed today than it was 26 years ago.
Here's the thing, Kenny: It's not that the American government is actively trying to do away with Christianity, it's just that mainstream Americans are rejecting Christianity in general, and your particular brand of fundamentalist, 100% bible-truth Christianity in particular. Christianity isn't failing due to government intervention, it's failing because it's a anachronistic & oppressive belief system. And furthermore, if you and your fellow fundies even understood the U.S. Constitution, you'd know that it would be illegal for the government to outlaw Christianity or any other religion unless they convinced everyone to repeal the 1st Amendment.
And Kenny, if you don't like the direction America is headed, you can always move back to Australia.
"But look at where America is todayand where it is heading! "
Yeah, just look, you fundie assholes want to combine your church and state, make science illegal and teach your religion in its place, and drive us back to the dark ages.
THAT'S where it's going...
And yeah, if you don't like secular society, get the fuck back to Australia...
Oh, we got trouble, trouble, trouble! Right here in River City!
In the 18th century, umbrellas were condemned as against god's will.
Cotton Mather, Savonarola, how far back to you want me to go? Best start flogging yourself in the streets.
In short, same sh*t, different decade.
"It's amazing how long this country has been going to hell without ever getting there."

oh come sir! How could Christianity fail to attract new recruits with enthusiastic spokespeople like you enticing newcomers into the fold to swell the ranks. I think that you protest too when there are so many expert practitioners like you keeping alive the subtle art of gullibility.
You must be teeming with raw recruits clamouring to get in to your exclusive club in order to avoid eternal torture courtesy of His nibs on the ceiling. In all honesty, Christianity runs one of the biggest protection rackets in the cosmos. It's been a resounding success.
Ah yes, 1988. Why, if I'm not mistaken, that's during the decline of the Satanic Panic.
Music has changed, AD&D has changed, Video Games have changed, movies have changed, television has changed.
You, have not. Do you not see the problem?
"Frankly, many people laughed at me"
“No, not in Americait could never happen here!”
Yes, Ken, it can and is happening here. Many people are laughing at you here.
So... he predicted this would happen because he reckoned it seemed likely, but it didn't happen. But decades later, things are different! Now, he reckons it seems likely! It must be getting closer!
This is not a good way to evaluate predictions. But yeah, I'm sure Jesus will be along within a week guys.
Confused?
