If we're going to give those living the gay 'lifestyle' special rights, we must grant arsonists rights as 'fire bug' Americans, pedophiles rights as 'pederast' Americans, thieves rights as 'sticky finger' Americans, et cetera. You might as well flush the whole thing down the toilet.

We're not going to give anyone special rights, but we are going to give everyone equal rights to marry the consenting adult love of their life.

Two people having consensual sex in the privacy of their own home harms no-one.
An arsonist burning down a house or a barn, will harm property and might kill humans and/or animals. He is, however, free to light fires in the fireplace in his own home.
A pedophile who molests a child will harm that child. Children can not give informed consent. The pedophile is free to fantasize about children in the privacy of his own home.
Thieves rob people of their belonging and harm the sense of safety people have in their own home. He is free to steal his own stuff, in the privacy of his own home.
