If women should wear blouses, where do you draw the line between "blouse" and "shirt?" And how does this square with Jesus's fashion choices?

I think this dipshit would be interested to learn that the tradition of dressing boys in blue actually came from pagan beliefs! As I remember, the story went that boys were considered more valuable than girls (psh, BS in itself!) and were dressed in blue, which was considered protective against fairies and spirits. The tradition of pink for girls came from the fact that pink is the color of the rose.

Jesus is generally drawn as wearing robes. I think this is based on Israelite culture of the time, where all men wore robes. How, then, can this guy justify dictating what people can wear based on "defiance of God"? The new testament ends way before the most conservative modern clothes were invented, so presumably God doesn't really care what we wear, since He hasn't bothered to inspire someone to write a book of the Bible about it...
The real sad/funny thing is that pink was originally a masculine color (watered down red, red=blood=strength) and blue was a feminine color (blue=peace). So by Xenon's logic any women wearing pink are an abomination as are any men wearing blue. And who decides what makes somebody a "sicko" as I am much more worried about the man with a rifle who listens to the voices in his head than the man who decided to wear a kilt.

I'll concede Deut 22:5's existence. HOWEVER, every other thing in that chapter is part of the law. Why stick a moral rule (assuming this example is as such) in with about 30 ceremonial ones?
In addition, given the history of garments, it would appear that an in-isolation interpretation of this one would leave certain morality at the hands of arbitrary society rather than a higher moral code. Do note that some guys wear skirts (and not just kilts), and retain their masculinity and their male appearance. Also, women have been wearing blue/pants for quite some time, not looking one bit mannish as a result. At what point, as this becomes more accepted, do the ones that call this a moral code acknowledge such a cultural shift, as they had with the many others since then?
(For those of you playing at home, guys at one point wore togas and robe-esque things, whose differences were minor at best.)

The other posters who mentioned that pink was originally a boys' color and blue originally a girls' color are quite right. Up until the early middle of the last century, blue was THE preferred color for young ladies.
As far as dressing babies in the "right" colors... pfft. My youngest son has a cute little pink romper that has "baby boy" embroidered on it. We bought it in a shop in Spain and no one thought anything of it. My daughters all regularly wear jeans, shorts, and slacks. My hubby loves to wear pink shirts AND HE SLEEPS IN A NIGHTSHIRT (oh noes he must have TEH GHEI!!!). Every summer we spend our time at my tribe's native powwows, where all the males wear loincloths, as they have for centuries (just as men in other countries have worn non-pant garments). I thought we were all just being normal... little did I know we were flaunting our satanic lifestyle! Gee whiz, you learn something new every day eh?

Most people dress babies according to gender because it's kind of hard to tell otherwise. Grown adults, on the other hand, tend to dress based on:
-Comfort
-Fashion
-The situation
Personally, I've always chosen my clothes according to practicality and comfort, and as I've not found dresses to meet either criterion, I tend to wear pants.

You want to know why so many women reject traditional female attire? Because the stuff men get to wear is actually practical, hard wearing and comfortable, whereas traditional female attire is restrictive, impractical, fragile, frequently really uncomfortable and sometimes even downright hazardous to the health. On occasion, it was actually the conscious intention of the designer for it to be restrictive and humbling.
It's only been in recent history that males wore blue and girls wore pink. Used to be the other way around. Girls wore blue, and boys wore pink. This is evidenced in antique christening gowns babies wore.
Men don't wear dresses, they do wear kilts. Women have worn trousers since the dawn of history. I would love to wear my tight jeans and waggle my ass at you.
Clothes has varied over time so much that there can be no absolute right or wrong about this. In Jesus' time all wore long kaftans or dresses, no trousers at all. During the 18th century all wore pastel colours. During most of recent history (ie the last 2000 years) small children were dressed in a unisex dresslike garment till they started to walk.
Men should not be clean shaven then, either.
