They could be both. And I say this as a childless 38-year-old weirdo who likes both shows.

I’m generally amused at how some people throw around the prefix “nu-” as if the thing being described were some sort of vague threat to the cishet gender orthodoxy, or as some wacky embarrassing new trend which should be ignored in hopes that it will go away, or both at the same time. Admittedly part of it’s because when I read it my subconscious initially jumps to it being the French word for “nude” which brings up some imagery that they’d *really* have a problem with, particularly if they’re talking about a children’s show. But there’s also the aspect where tacking “nu-” on to things they don’t like threatens to become an embarrassing trend itself…

Another word-replace experiment opportunity: replace ‘a woman’ with something else.
