I'll grant that fascism is a right-wing ideology. I will not grant that all conservatives are fascist.
I'll grant that liberals (in the U.S. sense) haven't been all that effective at stopping the rise of pro-fascist movements, mostly because they are hampered by political rules which most of them choose to follow even when their opponents mostly don't. I'm not sure whether to grant that this counts as "enabling".
I'll grant that there are benefits to socialism, and even that it might be the best choice for the world as it currently exists today. I will not grant that it will cure all the world's ills, or that every other option is inherently evil.

Well, so far the American, Turkish and Russian people aren't starving and none of those autocrats have sent their thugs to attack the national legislature, but I'm sure you have other reasons.

When you get to thinking that your Utopia justifies any means to get there, you create a dystopia. Using fascist tactics is using fascist tactics, whether it's the left or the right doing it. Never think "It's okay, because it's my side doing it". That's how horrible things happen.

While fascism is right wing, authoritarianism can be found on both sides of the political spectrum.

Chavez is notoriously known for censoring media that criticized him. He also set up the country to fall into financial ruin by doing simple finance 101 errors.
