The fossil record says the opposite of what evolution teaches.
Sponges, trilobites and jellyfish fossils suddenly appear in the Cambrian period where whole groups of creatures suddenly appear. This is what the Bible teaches.

The Cambrian “explosion” is when fossils first show up in greater numbers because was the time when the first animals with hard structures suitable for fossilisation evolved. However, Precambrian fossils do exist, most notably the Ediacaran, and the major lineages of the metazoans doubtlessly separated before the Cambrian. Indeed, for the course I am currently taking (on the diversity of insects), I am to present a paper on the phylogenomics of the arthropods, which finds that the major lineages of the arthropodes had evolved before even the Ediacaran, supporting a gradual long fuse scenario.

well, yeah, sure…if you go on “what the Bible teaches” as your basis of fact, then, sure, evolution will be proven wrong. I prefer to go with actual scientific observable facts myself.

I'm curious to know wshat they think the ToE predicts with respect to fossil evidence of, say, primordial soup?

The ones I've talked to, who aren't bright but seem representative of YECs, literally think evolution means "A rock decided to grow legs and then turned into a bunch of organs that wandered around until they combined into modern creatures and then a monkey mated with a horse or something and they had a human baby." And they think people believe this because we like drinking and fornicating.

There are Precambrian fossils, dude. One example is stromatolites.

Scientists have literally written entire libraries worth of stuff about this very topic. This is far from being unexplained.
