I have read a new editorial published by Christianity Today that promotes impeachment of President Donald Trump.
One of many, Doc. One of many.
The editors didn't tell us who should take his place in the aftermath.
Just about anybody would be an improvement. I’d take a cocker spaniel. At least they’re honest and loyal and an operation will stop them from perving on women the way the Orange Nightmare does.
Maybe the magazine would prefer a president who is passionately pro-abortion,
What is there to be passionate about? We want it legal because outlawing it only causes more misery, and unlike you guys, we actually care about the people it’s causing misery for. Including the little babies that you abandon the moment they’re born.
anti-family,
Just because we don’t think a family has to look exactly like the Cleavers doesn’t mean we’re against families that happen to look like that.
hostile to the military,
We want less war so that “our boys” don’t have to leave their families behind, get their limbs blown off and suffer PTSD for the rest of their lives because an oil tycoon’s big piles of money were looking a little bit smaller. We also think that the biggest military budget in the world by a country mile could easily stand to lose a few billion here and there and use that money to fix our infrastructure, fund schools, help the homeless, and so on.
dispassionate toward Israel,
The Israeli government isn’t exactly charming the pants off of us with their attempts to influence American policy and abuses towards the Palestinians. And calling us anti-Semitic won’t sway us. Real anti-Semites LOVE Israel.
supports a socialist form of government,
Do you even know what socialism is? Perhaps Roy can give you a crash course.
promotes confiscatory taxation,
Who the hell even mentioned that?! The closest thing I can think of is repo men, and they’re a product of your beloved capitalism.
opposes school choice,
You can choose what school you send you kid to. But you don’t mean that, do you? No, I bet you’re demanding Christian revisionist history that the kids can “make up their own minds about” just like Fox News does. Sorry, Doc, we’re gonna keep telling it like it is. You can’t elect the truth.
favors men in women's sports and boys in girl's locker rooms,
Nobody favors that. Transgender women are women, not men. And why don’t you care about FtM transsexuals?
promotes the entire LGBTQ agenda,
Their agenda is to not be thrown in jail, bullied or killed for not being heterosexual. Oh, and there’s also being allowed to adopt because it turns out being LGBTQ doesn’t mean they’re child abusers. What’s so bad about that?
opposes parental rights,
What rights would those be? The right to drive your child to suicide because they don’t identify as the gender you force on them based on what’s between their legs? Or to keep their children in the basement and starve them nearly to death? Or to let their children die of easily-treatable illnesses because they decided to use “alternative medicine?” How can a parent’s right to abuse their children in such a way be more important than the child’s right to live?
and distrusts evangelicals
Like Peter Popoff, the convicted fraud who told followers who could afford a $1000 donation to pledge $10,000 and trust in God to provide? Or this megachurch that told their followers they could bring a dead toddler back to life if they donated $100,000? Yeah, why would we be distrustful of such people?
and anyone who is not politically correct.
“Politically correct” is nothing but a dogwhistle. We’re just trying not to be bigoted dicks, and the bigoted dicks are complaining because they like being bigoted dicks without being reminded that they’re bigoted dicks.
By the way, after Christianity Today has helped vacate the Oval Office, I hope they will tell us if their candidate to replace Mr. Trump will fight for religious liberty and the Bill of Rights?
Sanders is your best bet there, even though I know what you really mean by “religious liberty.” You don’t want to stop oppression, you just want to be the oppressor.
Give your readers a little more clarity on why President Trump should be turned out of office after being duly elected by 63 million voters?
Once again I must remind you, he lost the popular vote. By a greater margin than any president in history, no less. But it’s a moot point. Even if he’d gotten 100% of the popular vote, he’s still guilty of abuse of power by trying to force the Ukrainian government to give him dirt on Joe Biden. And then there’s the laundry list of horrible things he’s done, from the tax cuts that screwed the middle class even more, to screwing up the treaty with Iran, to the useless money sink that is the border fence, and you’d better believe he deserved the boot for what he did to those poor migrant children.
Is it really because he made a phone call that displeased you? There must be more to your argument than that.
There is. I just laid it out, and that’s not all of it. And the phone call didn’t just “displease us,” it was a clear-cut abuse of presidential power.
While Christianity Today is making its case for impeachment, I hope the editors will now tell us who they support for president among the Democrat field. That should tell us the rest of the story.
It doesn’t matter. Drumpf is corrupt. He hasn’t just admitted it, he’s proud of it. He has got to go, and only one of his cultists would think otherwise.
