They're not and will never be Canadian. I don't care what their passport says.
Just like I will never be an Indian from India - even if I was born there.

Is Indian even an ethnic or racial group? I have had North Indians tell me South Indians are of a difference race and as well they had talked about the Southerners as if they were an inferior group.
Even if Indian is an ethnic or racial group, Jill’s analogy would still fail because she claims different people groups make radically different societies. Which means Indian dominated societies are too different to be compared to White dominated societies in such an analogy.

Ah. Another one who doesn’t care about actual legal status or birthplace. “Where do you come from?” is asking which country yuor family was in at some undefined point in history which was the ‘start.’
Never mind six to eighteen generations in ‘white’ countries, what 3rd World place do your PEOPLE actually come from?
Well… sure, you can reject other people because they can’t claim that their ancestors come from the same country as you (and that’s assuming your ancestors actually did come from Canada), but people can reject you for arbitrary reasons too, and I don’t suppose you’ll be so content with that.
Or, you know, you could develop a sense of empathy. Because right now, what you’re doing is the same as too many other people do: telling people they don’t belong to the place they consider home. You don’t have any idea what it’s like to be told that, to be told it so many times it stops sounding like insane rantings (which, frankly, it is) and starts sounding like an ongoing, unwelcoming echo. And lady, I hope you never have to experience that.
Perhaps settle down, enjoy the privilege that comes from living in a developed country, and leave other people to enjoy Canada, which is their home too. You’re neighbours; you’re not going to put all this effort into making yourself and them miserable, are you?
Confused?
