Actually, she does cite a source: a biography of dubious merit called 'The Hidden Hitler' - what she fails to do is a) confirm that he really was gay and b) prove that being gay makes you in any way more likely to invade Poland, etc.

That 'Hidden Hitler' book is pure BS. It consists entirely of rumour and innuendo, mainly from Hitler's political enemies, some of it from wartime Allied black propaganda, and a fair dosage of outright lies. Ernst Roehm, the leader of the SA, was provably homosexual, but there is no credible evidence whatever that Hitler was.
Ernst Rohm was quite openly gay and there was a lot of homoerotic imagery in Nazi propaganda but, like modern fundamentalism, homosexuality was generally ignored amongst the party elites as long as it stayed in the closet.
I understood that the Romans were tolerant of homosexuality, because they recognised it as a fact of life, but that it was a long way from being encouraged. Fine in private and all that, but public displays of affection were severely frowned upon. The notion of the Romans (certain insane emperors aside) as sex-craved, orgy loving hedonites who were having hetero/homo/bi sex left right and centre is something of a myth I gather.
