Yes the fact that the US dollar is just about worthless in other countries, large companies are laying people off, and the president himself got a economic stimulus refund approved all show how economy if fine.

(a) part of the reason oil prices have risen is because the value of the dollar has dropped. For example, if a euro is worth 90 cents and oil companies can sell a barrel in Europe for 50 euros, that's only $45. If the euro is worth $1.57 and they sell oil in Europe for the same 50 euros, it costs Americans $78.50 - with no increase in the price of oil itself!
Part of the reason the dollar drops is because borrowing money is like printing it: it dilutes its value. Over 90% of the money borrowed by the US government since WW2 has been borrowed by Republicans:

(b) The "Defense of Marriage Act" (DOMA) that defines marriage as between one man and one woman under Federal law (e.g., Social Security, Medicare, etc.), was passed in 1996 under Clinton.
Huge liberal lie? I'm seriously afraid for my job when the corporate office has called 4 times in the past week and a half, each time to say we have to cut more hours. Cut more hours. Cut more hours.... Right now we're operating with less than the minimum staff and acquiring new accounts has become an iceberg process, it's getting so slow. (I work for a cable and internet firm) My mom tells me the same things about her job at JCPenney - cutting hours constantly and slow sales.
Confidence in the economy is low. People aren't spending like they used to and this "economic stimulus package" is just a shiny toy the President is waving in front of our faces, hoping it will keep us entertained until he's out of office.
Do I even need to comment about how the price of gasoline is causing me to not buy things I normally would and leaves me with little luxury cash? I'd move in order to shorten my commute and thus save fuel but I doubt I could even afford to move right now... This is a no-win situation for MANY middle class Americans and the President and VP are pretending as if it doesn't exist (of course they are - Bush was born into wealth and Cheney has his Haliburton gazillions).

The international money marketeers are preferring to deal in Euros rather than the almighty Dollar, all signs of a badly mismanaged economy in the World's richest Nation.
