Funnily enough no man insisted to be treated as a woman when women could not vote, or own property.
No transwomen then.
And no-one wondered if you had to do genital checks to find out who was a man.

Well there was the chevalier but he was treated as a VERY SPECIAL WOMAN by men. Men, back in the day, didn’t believe members of their sex could become members of ours any more than they really do now.
It's funny that things never change: they still are treated as VERY SPECIAL women. Not just regular women.

Strange then in recent years here in Britain, that in our general election straight people voted in more trans MPs into Parliament than ever.
When said straight people determine how good they are by the job they do for their constituents - thus return them to the Palace of Westminster - what's your excuse, OPs...?!

No transwomen then. Funny enough how people didn’t come out as trans when the idea of being trans didn’t even exist.

It wasn’t uncommon in Native American tribes, I’ve heard.

No, there were trans women then. But since the concept of being trans is relatively new and because these kinds of things were considered scandalous, and because people who were not cisgender or heterosexual were subjected to great cruelty and thus tended to keep that sort of thing secret, it is basically impossible to tell for sure if any particular historical figure was trans. I mean, as far as I know, recognizing the difference between a transgender person and a crossdresser is something that wasn't really established until a few decades ago. In other words, in the heterosexual cisgender mainstream culture the divisions between the subgroups within LGBT++ are often seen as blurry, especially the farther back in history you go. A lot of people remembered as gay/lesbian crossdressers were probably really transgender. Attaching anachronistic labels to specific people probably isn't a great idea but yeah, being trans isn't new even if understanding it the way we do now is. Of course, some cultures have had alternative gender categories for people who aren't cisgender since ancient times, too.

Your evidence for this? Seriously. My first thought is of Freud’s diagnosis of ‘penis envy.’ He thought some women wanted to be men because men had all the power. But maybe that was just an assumption on his part and some women just wanted to be men.
And some men wanted to be women.
How could you tell if they NEVER existed, if they would have been treated worse in the past than they are today? You’re not aware of any (after, I’m sure, extensive research), so you conclude they didn’t exist?
Kinda like saying there were no atheists at the tiem the Church burned such people alive… They ere there, but not dumb enough to advertise the fact.
Confused?
