HurtingAngel:
This Doctor is a hero.
In the last days they will call evil good and good evil. Satan is the father of lies and author of confusion.
Ken Weaver:
150 years ago people were using the bible for justification of slavery... but these are the last days because a guy doesn't want to use the pronouns his patients want him to use?
WestWins:
First -- Slave Owners occupied less than 1% of the population.
Second -- How come no one talks about "Slavery" committed by other Races? Not to mention...…...Blacks owned slaves as well. How come they get none of the blame.
How did the Slave Merchants get the slaves in the first place???
You are brainwashed mate.

Satan is Fred Trump? And yes, socialism/liberalism is called bad, and fascism is called good.
SLAVERY is wrong regardless of who the perpetrator is, silly-nilly.
Blacks owned slaves as well, but it’s still less than one percent that owned slaves?
I bet much more than just one percent benefited from work done by slaves.
Supply and demand. The slave merchants were buying lots and lots of slaves to bring to the Americas. The tribes in Africa who were at war with each other sold their enemies as slaves to the merchants.
You are the brainwashed one, dearie.
From the link…
Americans owned plantations in South America and the Caribbean.
Sounds like a lot of “whataboutism”. They were still using Bible/Koran for justification of slavery, regardless of where in the world they were doing it.
It doesn’t get less bad because others were doing it too, dumbass.
The article says Mauritania outlawed slavery in 2007, Wikipedia says 1981.
More from Wikipedia:
Although the Atlantic slave trade was not the only slave trade from Africa, it was the largest in volume and intensity.
[…]
Four million enslaved people exported via the Red Sea, another four million through the Swahili ports of the Indian Ocean, perhaps as many as nine million along the trans-Saharan caravan route, and eleven to twenty million (depending on the author) across the Atlantic Ocean
And yes, slavery still exists, even if it’s outlawed, and it’s STILL bad.
Oh and dead-naming or using the wrong gender pronoun is impolite and stupid, regardless of the slave trade.
1. The rest of the population benefitted from having jobs as overseers, bounty hunters, blacksmiths, shipping, etc. The whole damn economy was built in slavery, moron.
2. We're talking about the US. Spain imported blacks to Central America to replace the natives as slaves. The Irish were never slaves, save for some woman who wanted to marry a black man but was told her children would become slaves if she did. Indentured servitude was legally differed from slavery and the servant had lots of ways to redress grievences.
And none of this has anything to do with how slave owners tried to justify their "peculiar institution" with The Bible or gender pronouns.
@Spacewyrm
It's comments from a story about a Christian doctor who was fired for refusing to use people's preferred gender pronouns.
What I'm trying to figure out is how any of what "WestWins" said is relevant to what he was responding to. No one else mentioned a damn thing about race.
And wait... since when can people post links on Christian News Network?? That's new...
"First -- Slave Owners occupied less than 1% of the population."
Um, that doesn't exactly refute the bible-based justification.
"Second -- How come no one talks about "Slavery" committed by other Races?"
Um, that doesn't even slightly refute the bible-based justification.
"You are brainwashed mate."
Right, right. Someone ties the Bible to Slavery and you make it a race issue. Because he's brainwashed.

“And wait... since when can people post links on Christian News Network?? That's new...”
They still can’t, WestWins posted his link with the word “dot” where the dots usually go. In submitting here I turned it into the URL he was intending so people could see he was linking to a hate site.
Along with the other Twelve*, the Thirteenth * Doctor continues to save the universe - certainly against the enslavement of civilised races by the likes of the Daleks - via just her wits, her Sonic Screwdriver, and her TARDIS; the First * one even mentioned that he would regenerate as a woman in the future: and that was in the 1960s. Meanwhile, an actual hero: William Wilberforce. A local hero who used his position as an MP to abolish Slavery: and before Abraham Lincoln.
In Soviet Britain, the fact he was an Evangelical Christian sets you straight OP.
*- Okay, there was the War Doctor: but he was either the 8½ or 9½.
Okay; So there’s a story about a jerk doctor who kept mis-gendering transpeople. The OPs get on a tangent about Slavery.
What does slavery have to do with the subject at hand?
The OPs are WEIRD!

@Anon-e-moose
I don’t follow Doctor Who but I agree SHE’S awesome!
Oddly enough; I look at photos of her and can envision David Tennant (Who played the Tenth) as Campbell Bain cosplaying as Thirteen. Thirteen does look a tad like a female Campbell Bain (If I squint a bit).
I’m weird.
Confused?
